had lee held the ball and waited to pitch on the fumble play, elliot would have at least got back to the line of scrimmage. As it went the end had enough time to react to the pitch, disrupting everything.

Elliot would have done more than get to the line of scrimmage. There was a huge running lane open. It was some of the better blocking I have seen.
