do you not realize it is extremely early in the season. We're just really young and playing some extremely tough competition.**

were against MS Valley. Seems like we had about 3 steals on them in one inning of one game. That doesn't mean much.

I will complain early and often about Cohen's propensity to bring in punch and judy hitters. Our Freshmen should be better than the early season opponents' Seniors.

I have seen better hitters in a 10 year old sleep over pillow fight than these girls Cohen has trotted out there early in the season.

The TOP teams have multiple freshmen and sophomores who perform at a high level. Cohen's are average or slightly below average. Look at every Top SEC program. They have a couple of stud freshmen and a couple of stud sophomores in their batting order. Maybe the bats are "too heavy" for the little boys.

But I knew this was coming because Cohen let it out on Doug and Jay this morning. he said "we will be pretty good when the young kids get some experience, probably next year, and possibly later in this season." paraphrased.

LSU and Vandy have some issues as well. But Arkansas, Georgia, Florida and South Carolina have young uns too, and they seem to be doing okay.

So get ready. We will struggle and/or lose to a bunch of also-rans and no name baseball teams and get hammered by the top SEC teams until our freshmen and sophomores are juniors and seniors. Seems like I have heard that before.....oh yeah....some guy named Polk excused our yutes!

On the other hand, MSU could win the SEC. It IS still early after all.**

they could get a hit with runners in scoring position. Apparently ours can't. I do agree though that while Cohen's recruiting has been a significant upgrade from Polk's, no doubt, they haven't been quite as good all the way around as I thought he might do when we originally brought him in to run the program. Cohen is getting consistent Top 25 to 30 classes but at Kentucky he had a couple of Top 10 type classes. If I remember right his last KY class was a Top 5 national class. For example, we got some pretty good players last year but heck, look at the haul USM pulled in.
