They have burgers, chili burgers, chili dogs. Pretty good. But nothing beats the Starkville Cafe.

I prefer Waffle House or Krystal's, but IHOP is pretty awesome too. Pigs in a blanket at 2 A M is flippin sweet.

Also, Steak n Shake 17ing sucks whether you're hung over or not.

I not talking about the good fresh from the grease kind. I'm talking about the dry, shrivelled up, heat lamp wings that they were about to throw in the garbage can. Try putting that on a gut full of nickel draft beer from "The Landing".

Anyone from the 80's remember this store next to Sessums and Mckey. My guess is they must have changed the name, because Urban Dictionary defines it as the area between nuts and *** hole.

draft at The Landing. Cheers had nickel beer on Wednesdays a lotand The Landing had a good many 1.00 Longnecks but you are correct in saying B-Quick had the best damn fried chicken and potato logs ever.
Their fresh beef/bean burrito's were pretty damn good too. Fresh being key here.

started with nickel draft and got higher as the night went on. If you want the honest truth, I worked at Brewski's and Bulldog package store for 2 years. Most of my beer and liquor was bought there and I would bring it out to the landing. Was it Ronnie Mitchell whose family owned the Landing? He would give me the hook up on beer out there as well.

Steak Burger at State Drive in (on east end of parking lot where Harvey's is located) Park in back and they would come out and take your order in the car.

Clark's minute mart on H-25 and H-12 5 for $1.00 bbq

Coleman's anything late at night, close to Judge Mac'sat the RR bridge on Universityclose to where Bulldog Deli is now.

LinLew's sliced pork BBQ, fried pickles and pitcher of PBR

There was a truckstop in Columbus out toward the airbase for 3 am eats and one in West Point- nothing in Starkville after 12:00

Burger Chef on east side of campus - maybe a book store there now. Walk 1 block to there from Hamlin, which is long gone now.

Pizza Inn on University (and N. Nash?)

Steak and Salad at Plantation Bell Motel Restaurant on 82

Man I'm feeling old today.Closest Krystal back then was likely in Jackson, But I can remember getting off work at Jackson Daily News sports desk at 3:00 in the morning (late 60s) and going to Krystal on Capitol Street a block below old Capitol and sitting at counter, ordering krystals two at a time and watching Miz Flora cook them for us on the grill across from the counter. Waffles, too - Great Waffles for 3:00 am.

the Landing. I worked out there for a couple of summers in 86 and 87 and would take the money after closing up to his house. He left the back door open and I would put it on his desk.
Looking back now, I cant believe I wasnt hit over the head and mugged while doing that--especially when I had to do it by myself.

...since they don't even open until 11 or so (plus, can't beat free peanuts).

My lists:
Starkville- Krystal and Starkville Cafe (and does leftover Popeyes count?)

all time- LaBamba, a.k.a. Burrito the Size of Your Head

and from where I used to live: Firehouse Pizza. You haven't lived until you've had a pizza delivered to you at 3am by a guy with a joint behind his ear that can't run your credit card, so he just gives it to you.
