Going under the knife later today for some surgery on my inner ear. I am told this will make me severely dizzy for about two weeks. Lol. My daughter is threatening to video my various stumblings and post it on Facebook if Oregon wins. She claims my prediction of a Husker victory is jinxing us.

So we have to win in order for me to avoid public humiliation

Seriously though... I won't be posting on here for quite a while. So the board will experience a serious upgrade now. Addition by subtraction.

On one hand, surgery (and all that goes with it), blows. On the other hand, how lucky are we that we live in a country you can get stuff like this fixed? Good luck to you my friend!!!

I did that last year after my 3rd (and still unsuccessful) hip surgery. Several people got a laugh, boxes came to my defense, but there were a lot of dorks giving me a hard time. So I'd suggest not doing that, based on my experience. Reminded me of the "Do you have to drink to have a good time? " guy.

As long as you come out of surgery healthy and do recover is all that matters. Who cares about videos :)

Good luck to you and hope your back on the board soon. I believe I will be having this same type of surgery at some point in the future so you can let me know how bad it sucks.

I've had the procedure that you're getting ready to undergo twice on my left ear. Dizziness fades in a couple of days.. it's the nerve damage from incisions that lingers for many weeks that will give you the most discomfort.

Out of surgery. Wifey handed me my iPad. I feel like dog **** on a hot Iowa City sidewalk.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

My nurse right now is a very ugly woman. Damn. If she tells me I need a catheter because I haven't pissed yet I may have to kill myself. She looks like a female John Candy.

But drugs are wonderful. I need to take some of this **** home. Maybe this ugly nurse will give me some if I flirt with her by giving her this green jello they put in front of me

If you want the good stuff make sure you tell them you are allergic to

Ibuprofen
Naprosyn
Toradol
All NSAIDs
Tylenol - acetaminophen

If they ask you what the reaction was tell them you stopped breathing

The pain will greatly diminish once they remove the half volleyball sized bandage that's wrapped with a yolo bomb of gauze and surgical tape. The best feeling is when they remove the medicated wick. It doesn't hurt, just irritating as he!! What a relief..
