Before the draft. He checked out before this spring. A seemingly innocuous ankle injury doesn't make one retire within a few months.

What about a seemingly innocuous shoulder, a seemingly innocuous neck and lower back?

He made an attempt to come back from the injuries he’s tried to play through and it didn’t work.

The narratives floating around social media are frankly sick. The guy made a life choice. If how he did it or when he did it offends people, sorry but that’s too bad. He doesn’t owe it to anyone.

And he knew full well he was closing $24 million from the Colts and still made the move when he did.

Well this proves it, Luck was nothing without Coby Fleener.

Think about this one, Griffin lasted longer in the league than did Luck. Moreover, they said it was Griffin's style of play that would cost him his career, and Luck's mind that would make his.

In the end, Griffin is in the league because his style of play makes him the perfect back up for Lamar Jackson, while Luck is out of the league because his mind is not in it...grant it, it used a lot of cells trying to avoid getting pummeled every play...but facts are facts...unless well...never mind.

And he’s been playing the game for probably 20 years. Aside from injuries, what’s wrong with a guy just saying he’s tired and not mentally into it anymore?

I don't think I said he owed anyone anything. I just think he should have retired earlier in the year. If his injuries were as severe as you claim he could have retired in January.

Nothing, but what's wrong with saying the timing sucked.

Guy retired at a bad time. A ridiculous time in the season. Nothing outlandish about that statement.

I have no problem with it. Football is a business and management can be done with you as easily as you’re done with it all. Sometimes people just hit the breaking point and we never know why. I still can’t understand why one of my favorite musicians Chris Cornell ended it when he was seemingly on top of the world. All brains think differently. I hope Luck finds peace with his new family.

So the timing was good?

I'm not asking for a judgement. Is the final weeks of the preseason a good time to lose a quarterback? It's a yes or no, factual statement.
I guess if you’re going to be persistent, then yes it’s bad timing. If he had a heart attack and died would you call that bad timing too? Feel better that you won that one? Good lord.

Seems to me he was plenty happy to cash the checks up until now. We live in a time when players hold out on an obligation they already signed as if their signature only matters as long as nobody else gets a better deal. In my mind, Andrew Luck is guilty of a fiduciary violation.

If you were the guy paying his salary how was it?
What have you gotten for your investment?

If we agree it’s a business, the business got hosed on this one.

So we should be upset that Luck left the Colts high and dry, but the Colts can cut people before or during the season and that's ok? His body shut down good for him to be in a position to walk on his terms and not crawl later in life.

In the #MeToo era, his body, his choice.

But back when Men were Men, this would have been inconceivable.

"Tone Deaf Post of the Week" winner right here.
Let's say I won the lottery - never have to work again.

I'd feel RESPONSIBLE to the company - particularly the rank and file staff who depend on my efforts to make the company successful - to give at least six months to find a proper replacement.

But that's just me.

And what would this full contact job be?

does not have to be a full contact job??? the point I and still remains. you give notice, a heads up, a little respect to the company that gave YOU the opportunity. but we all know in this day and age, it is simply about the ME.

hey guess what, they(all pro athletes) picked the sport to play. so please do not tell us about injuries, concussions, and cte's. it is a violent sport no doubt.
but, YOU EXCEPT THE RISKS to get paid very well.

now, do I believe he did the right thing for him? yes,
but not for his teammates nor his teams ownership.

Do you really want a guy on the field who’s not right physically or mentally? Not good for him or the team.
