The college world series run and now our current football season seems to have really opened people eyes to our school. I know in Omaha it was a very cool feeling having people just come up and compliment state. I'm not out of state, but it sounds like this is also happening because of football as well, which is a very cool thing.

Pretty damn good. Live in Nashville I have a little cowbell on my keychain and have made sure everybody hears it now. I also point and laugh at Barners. More people identify more with State than scUM. I have been on other message boards from other schools and conferences. Seems like the one thing in common nobody likes scum and they like us.

Don't take your key chain to the Egg Bowl ... they'll confiscate it (have been known to take women's necklaces that have a bell).

Today was my first opportunity to get with my almost-totally-Alabama-fan golf group because of all the rain (over 8" since Saturday at my house). They were actually very gracious and say they hope we make it all the way. They're ticked at Saban. In the past they've gotten State and OM confused, but no longer. When they make that mistake, I purposely confuse Alabama and Auburn.

Here in New Hamp-sha it's been pretty cool. It all really started after we went into Death Valley and punched LSU right in their collective chainsaw dicks. Then, after knocking off A&M, I had a few #Dak4He15man conversations with a couple of co-workers - the kind of people who realize the sports world extends outside of the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins. Now, since beating Auburn, these same guys want to go with me to a game.

All-in-all, it's pretty awesome.

As a side note, when I started my current job back in April, I was floored when I was walking around the office on the first day and noticed a desk with a cowbell on it. Turns out, the guy went to State back in the late 90's and early 00's, and he also won the punt, pass, kick contest one time.

Columbus Day was great. We had an all day training and I was so glad I got to wear my State shirt. Out of 250 employees I am the only State guy. They rest are composed of 90% Bama, Barn, FSU, and UF. I am good friends with several FSU fans and they were all congratulatory and several said, We do not want to play ya'll.The Auburn fans were also gracious, admitting that we whipped them, penalties be damned. Bama fans acted like we crashed their black panther party, and Florida fans just were staring into space wearing their favorite NFL shirts.

Same; completely random people walk up to discuss our rise to the top with me. I try to be pretty humble about it I guess.

I traveled to the northwest this week and it felt great to have people notice my MSU shirt and start talking to me about how we look like the real deal. Usually people in non southern markets may or may not even realize what school the logo belongs to. It is uncharted territory to get this kinda love, but I like it!

Amazing - Sunday in Atlanta conversation about Preston Smith and the Falcons draft with a convenience store cashier. Flew to Chicago Monday - recognition in the ATL airport and when I jumped out of the cab in downtown CHI, the bellman yelled out "Mississippi State! Woo Hoo!"

I work weekends so I got to ring my cowbell during the close of our 10pm news Saturday night. I work at KFVS...a station filled with Mizzou grads. Lots of high fives and "How about them dawgs?"

Plus, my chief met is a barner so I've enjoyed ribbing him.

It has been a great 4 weeks in Houston, but the past week has been great. My...

boss is from NY and another manager is from OH. They both sent me emails over the weekend. I got calls on Saturday night from U of Tx people, A&M people, and many others. I really get the feeling that the people who don't have a dog in the NC fight or another SEC team, are really happy for MSU.

Pretty great here in Cincinnati. Out doing typical "Fall stuff" Sunday afternoon. My MSU sweatshirt might as well have been a blinking sign saying "Yes, I want to talk college football with you, inquisitive stranger." Ohio State fans, Georgia fans, Michigan State fans, all chatting me up right about the time I found out we were #1 in both polls. Some UK fans noted "so OF COURSE when we get a little success, our permanent West rival becomes the best team in the country right before they play us."

Here in Texas, it's been great. I was at Texas A&M for a two-day Engineer's Short course. The classes were held across from Kyle Field. I wore my State cap and everybody seemed to be happy for State....at least the Tea-sips weren't #1.

Was staying at Comfort Suites. The front desk clerk complimented State, then told me that the Ole Miss folks who stayed there last weekend were a bunch of ********.

AMAZING. Living in Montgomery AL most of my friends are Auburn fans. I have felt great. Some of them say they are "happy for me" because they know the pain i have been through. Still I know they are mad.

In Covington Louisiana it has been great!

Sunday after the LSU game the pastor(a big LSU fan) asked me to ring my cow bell instead of the church steeple bell that is usually rung at the begining of the service. I got a lot of laughter and good natured comments.
