Yup. Memphis, Nashville, Birmingham, and Huntsville draw a lot I think. But I would expect Texas would be close just because of the engineering pipeline and thath Atlanta would make Georgia not too far behind that. Surely the alumni association has some stats? Granted that would still only be people that semi keep up, but probably more representative than sixpack.

Kinda funny that this poll is associated with a state whose history is deeply tied to latitudinal geography, but the less specific response options are longitudinal.

Thank the Lord for Huntsville and Birmingham (and Memphis too) that we have actual decent cities within 2-3 hours and, while not in-state which would be best, alumni can live/work there and still come back to games. Definitely sucks that Alabama is between us and Birmingham and Ole Miss is between us and Memphis, but Huntsville could kinda be seen as a more neutral city. It obviously leans more Bama/Auburn but not nearly as much as the rest of the state. Nashville and Atlanta are good to have in the periphery and glad we have that flight to DFW now. Really need one to Houston as well.

That said, it's just making the best of a bad situation. Would be so much more ideal if Jackson was the size of Birmingham or Memphis, and drive time was an hour or less, rather than 2. Maybe even better would be if Huntsville was Tupelo.

The Huntsville-Decatur Alumni chapter is our largest out of state chapter....or at least it was 30 years ago, the last time I checked.

The problem is, once you get to Huntsville, you can't get out. I-65 doesn't even run through Huntsville. Getting to Starkville is quite an adventure. And dont even try to drive from Huntsville to Atlanta...it can't be done.

I went to WFU for grad school and never left. Even worked at WFU for a bit. Still not enough of us in NC to get alumni license plates.
