Outstanding second half by the USA and a good win over a pretty good team.

All 4 of the halftime subs played a good half. I think that lineup needs to be pretty close to the starting 11 from here on out. We actually looked like a legitimately good team out there and pretty much dominated the 2nd half. If we can continue to play like that, we should advance easily and give someone a tough match in the 1st round of the knockouts.

Gooch started to look like his old self again in the second half, which is a huge plus. hopefully another week will have him fully fit for the last tune up against Australia. Findley impressed and showed that we need to play 2 strikers at all times.</p>

there is one complaint I have with Findley from the game, it is that at times he held the ball way too long (for the most part). He still played well, though. Bradley should have put his chance away.

His little dump over Landon's head to set up Jozy's goal was his best touch. And its good that he was that confident against a good European team. But he made some boneheaded plays as the game progressed. It's like he got overconfident and kept trying to beat that fullback one one one even when he had better options. Twice he juked himself right over the touch line to give them a goal kick.

As for Bradley, he madea gooddecision. He had a bad angle and the keeper was closing fast. I wouldn't mind seeing him shoot there, but he set it up on a silver platter for Dempsey, and he (Dempsey) just didn't finish. The best choice would've been to hit Landon who was by himself with an open net on the far post.

I'd also say Donovan should've shot on Jozy's goal, but still that was great vision to see him there and it probably does more for us mentally to have Altidore score after the year he had in England.

The defense was clearly helped by the pressure we were putting on Turkey offensively. But a couple of the late defensive miscues were made by the late sub for Bocanegra (can't remember offhand who that was). He won't be playing many minutes in the World Cup.

But wtf do I know.

My kids just played association football for 10 years.
I was merely a ref and asst. coach.
Still fun to watch the international futballers go at it.
