Bo Tillman signed with USM last year after everyone saying he'd never get in anyway.

Then, he shows up at OM for the spring semester, signs another LOI and applies for admittance.

Not so fast, says USM. He signed a LOI with us last year and we haven't released him.

OM says it doesn't matter because he was denied enrollment so his original LOI is void.

USM says Uh-uh... he never applied so we never denied. LOI still good. He's ours.

OM says well.... that doesn't matter because he was still classified a junior in high school when you signed him and that was a no no.

USM says... well we'll just see about that.

Xenareb says it's just another way for The Man to screw over another kid (like Powe) that just wants to play football for the Rebs. (/seriously)

Worst case scenario for Tillman is that he sits out the spring semester, waits for his LOI to expire from USM, signs another LOI with Ole Miss on signing day, and he joins the team and enrolls at Ole Miss in the summer.

Basically, it all boils down to USM being mad that we worked a deal with Bo behind their backs, so they are trying to do whatever they can to make it difficult on Tillman and Ole Miss. Unfortunately for them, one week from today they lose any footing they had when his LOI to USM (valid or not) expires.

Then the only question becomes whether he's still able to enroll late at Ole Miss for the spring semester and whether or not the Clearinghouse will accept his work so he can join the team full-time.

Obviously, the Clearinhouse could reject him altogether throwing a wrench in any of his plans, but if they clear him, he'll be in classes at Ole Miss either next week or at the start of summer.

"USM being mad that we worked a deal with Bo behind their backs..."

You can check me on this but I'm pretty sure the NCAA frowns upon schools "working deals" with prospects that have already signed LOI's with other schools. ......Ask Stansbury how his foray into Oklahoma recruiting went.

We have a winner. If the NCAA rules that the LOI with USM was valid, Ole Miss could be placed on LOI probation and Tillman could be ruled ineligible to sign with the Rebels.

I'm assuming the deal went something like "Hey Marcus, see if you can talk your brother into coming here instead of USM".

I don't know the rules, and I remember you guys getting in trouble for something. I do know that Bo hasn't signed an LOI with Ole Miss yet though, so I don't know how that plays into things. What was it that you guys did to get in trouble and get put on NLOI probation?

Kenneth Cooper who had signed with Okl St.

I think he even came to a game. I remember everyone kept posting "Kenneth Cooper was at the game" and the mods would quickly say "no he wasn't"

I bet the Bo Tillman recruitment was that simple. He probably heard about the shrimp and grits at City Grocery and the great shopping at Nielson's and said "sign me up"

UPDATE: Kenneth Cooper transferred to La Tech where he averages 11.7 ppg and 7.1 rpg. Magnum Rolle is also on that team.
