It was close, but it wasn’t a chop block. First guy released just before the other one hit.
I can't remember one catching that pass, but that catch was a thing of beauty.
The more I watch that play, the more I'm impressed. He stumbles and still absolutely smokes the defender. He is on a dead spring looking straight ahead until just before the ball gets to him. He looks back at the last moment, finds the ball in the air, adjusts and makes a hell of a an over the shoulder catch. That whole sequence is extremely difficult to pull off and he made it look easy.

I'd say not very many receivers make that catch, amazing concentration from Thompson
That ball is overthrown to pretty much every State WR ever to wear the maroon and white.
He was a starter for Oklahoma last year but when Jackson Arnold is your QB you are not gonna put up big receiving numbers

ETA - .I had heard about this kid over the summer. The only thing I heard about our football team was about this wide receiver from Oklahoma.
On the one pass where Shapen did overthrow him in the end zone, I thought "how the heck do you overthrow Brenen Thompson?"
