While it's tough to swallow, UK fans are going to have to accept the fact it's going to take a little while longer for Stoops and company to clean up the mess that Joker left.

I believe Barnhart realized this when he gave Stoops that extension.

UK fans have waited decades on a winning football program.

Surely we can endure a couple more seasons.

Sadly, Joker is a step up from Stoops. Barnhart is now responsible for hiring Joker, Gillispie and Stoops. Think about that. Joker and Gillispie will never be a head coach again at the D-1 level, and Stoops will never get another head coaching job once he's fired here. How can you make three horrific - not just bad, horrific - hires in the two major sports and stay employed?

It ain't going to happen. This loss just killed any recruiting momentum we've gained over the past few years under Stoops. Kids who are elite don't want to play for losing programs. Time for basketball. The only true sport we are elite at.

I don't think you can lay this disaster at Joker's feet. Not this far into Stoops' tenure. Stoops is doing a bang up job of pouring gasoline on a dumpster fire of a program in his own right. Two more years of this and we will wish to have Joker back.

He got the extension because we have a joke for an AD. Beat what turned out to be a bad South Carolina team at home and only UK football would reward someone with an extension. Could of probably renegotiated Stoops contract for less pay if he would of waited to see how the rest of the season played out.

stick all that up your a$$. this team is NOT making progress, they get worse each week of the season. sunshine pumpers like you are exactly why this program is like it is.

This has nothing to do with Joker. We have three classes of Stoops horses and should be competing better than what we have. 4-1 starts two years in a row and you don't make a bowl? That's pathetic! Stoops is the head guy and if he doesn't ditch some of his roadies (Elliot and O-Line coach) then it's going to be his death sentence.

You sound as bad as Obama supporters still blaming Bush in Barry's second term lol.

So asking for 6 wins is too much right? Asking to beat a team like Vandy or a horrible UL team? How about that OT win vs. EKU?

Please explain to me that we didn't have enough talent to avoid OT vs. EKU or a win vs Vandy or UL? Explain that one to me.

That's a ******** excuse..I will give you a few points on that BUT no excuse for no adjustments...play calling..poor clock management..that cost us 7 points..still would have lost..but changes must be made on offense and defense..

Have to remember, Stoops is a first time head coach. He is learning on the run.

Just going to have to take some lumps while he gets his feet underneath him.

The title of this thread reminds me of what all the liberals said about Bush after 7 years of Obama. The field goal at the half instead of punching one in was playing not to lose. Look where it got us, another classic Kentucky football game.

BTW consider the Texas HC scenario, Mack Brown last 2 seasons 17-9, and Charlie Strong 1st 2 seaons 10-14. Should we consider a 64 year old coach with 244 career wins at 3 different schools ?

Some fans forget it took brooks almost a decade to build us up.
Took joker only three to destroy ky football
And set us back another decade.
While this team took a step back this year. We are at least winning five and not at the absolute bottom of the sec

Wow, I was not aware of these stats. Very interesting. I was not a fan of Joker and excited for a change, but this is all on Stoops. We should expect better than 12-24 over a three year span, IMHO.

Joker is worse because he couldn't recruit. But Stoops is as bad or worse on game day.
