Considering that he's likely going to be charged with two additional murders...

...that were committed last year, it's definitely the right move.

I agree with taking down the displays and pictures now, but for something permanent like the brick, wait until he's convicted.

The guy killed at least 3 people and who knows how many more, and even before that he's been tied to gangs since early high school. We laugh at all the stuff Smoot gets arrested for because it's essentially harmless but ignorant, but even with those charges the university somewhat distances itself from him. Can you imagine if he is now on CNN every night because he killed 3 people and shows no emotion about it? Come on, right move by UF... even without the verdict. Positive message by taking it off, entirely wrong message by leaving it.
