In our last 6 games against TN, TN was ranked in the top 10 in all those games. In those 6 games, we are 5 - 1. If ever the chant of OOOOVERRATED applied, it is to Tennessee!

There is never a situation for an overrated chant…if you believe TN is overrated, you are diminishing our own win.
Nope. For a team ranked top 10 to lose 5 of 6 to a lower ranked team is solid evidence that the ranking was not justified. Hence, overrated (or possibly we were underrated).
It kinda depends for me. You win by single digits, maybe hold your tongue. If you come in ranked 10+ spots lower and blow them out by 20+ it seems justified.
The "overrated" chant is the same as saying "You're no good! If you were, bums like our team couldn't beat you!."

It doesn’t say that at all. It says that your team is undeserving of its ranking based on its performance. In this case, I think TN was ranked headed of KY in all of the last 6 games but yet we won 5 of them. That tells me that TN was not worthy of its ranking, especially relative to KY. For some reason, the polls in recent years have a fixation for Barnes and TN. It is no diminishment of KY’s win last night to say that TN is not the 5th best team in the country - that TN is overrated.
I think for the most part some people just like to **** talk and don't care about the actual meaning. I'm fine with anyone **** talking KU, Duke, UNC, UTjr, Lil Bro, etc... **** talk away my friends.

In reality we are just way underrated due to our 2 week injury caused snafu. We are a top 5 caliber team when healthy (hell even when not healthy sometimes).
I choose to give our team credit for a good win rather than act like the opponent was overrated
I get it just fine. If I believe TN is not the 5th best team in the country, and we as the 12th ranked team beat them, my act of calling TN overrated is saying that TN did not deserve to be ranked 5th. That it is overrated
Is there any doubt on this Board that TN, with its lack of consistent offense, is not the 5th best team in the country? In fact, I think TN is marginally top 15ish. Saying (or chanting) that is no more than simply that - TN is overrated.
How is the record against a single team for the last few years relevant to a team's current year ranking.
Tennessee may be ranked a couple spots high, but their losses are UK x 2, @FL, @ AU by 2, and @VU by 1
Can't believe I'm defending Tennessee in anything, but this is ridiculous argument.

I've only watched them twice this year and both times they couldn't hit the broadside of a barn even when open. They didn't have much of a post game either. Also Ziegler never really impressed me. So in my opinion they are way overrated.

If Tennessee can keep games in the low 60’s they are hard to beat! They have a good defense but struggle to score at times. Kentucky can score in bunches and is the type of team Tennessee will struggle with!
For me, there is a difference in thinking a team is overrated and chanting overrated. I thought that was the main discussion. Yes, I think Tennessee is slightly overrated at number 5 AP. But I, personally, just don't care to participate in chanting such. Nothing can take the polish off this great win.
Tennessee has been overrated all season. They were better last year with Knecht. They only had a couple of decent non-conference wins and are only 7-5 in the SEC. They should not be a #1 seed and in the top 5.
We are UK we never chant over rated at an opponent just like we will never storm the court. That’s the kind of stuff blue blood winners never do!

Yes, calling your opponent overrated after a win is essentially calling yourself overrated. There are so many other things to chant.
Maybe the OP wants to rethink the title of this thread. The title should have been UK UNDERRATED!!
