Better recruiting (with quality coaching) leads to better results. There is no denying that West Virginia is recruiting better. This is an absolute fact. This class is currently on pace (keyword on pace) to be the best class in the Rivals.com internet era. Last class was the best class in that era in terms of quality per recruit, this current class is sitting at second. Now, with quality coaching which I think most reasonable people believe is certainly in the Puskar building right now that should lead to better on the field results. This staff has already shown improvement going from 5-7 to 6-4 (which we could easily argue had they played Oklahoma, Florida State and Maryland last year we'd be talking 8-5) and that was in a complete rebuild. Why was it a complete rebuild? Look at the 2018 roster and the turnover that occurred. Take the 2017 recruiting class for example, there is literally one player from that group still on the team. And only two high school players including that one (Exree Loe and Darius Stills) even finished their eligibility here. Then factor in the transfers and players that left early which always occurs in a coaching change along with the commitment Holgorsen had to taking transfers it meant guys were gone in one or two years. That's a lot of proven talent out the door when Brown took over and that doesn't even include guys that left for non-football reasons like Kenny Robinson, Derrek Pitts, etc. This staff is committed to doing it through development primarily in the high school ranks. That takes time, which obviously the administration is behind with the extension they just gave Brown. Let's revisit this conversation in a couple years and see where they stand.
This is my last reply here, but you realize that facility upgrades lead to better recruiting.
