Name me someone better? Averaged 16-17 on a sweet 16 team and some are acting like he isn’t great.
He isn’t great. He’s good. If he were great he’d be drafted. He benefited from a couple guys in his team being injured or playing hurt to boost the numbers. Everyone healthy on last years team and he’s probably the theirs or fourth option.

Lowe will be first team all SEC next year
He’s the most important piece, IMHO. If he’s not good, we will be meh. If he’s elite, look out. If he’s ******, we might not make the tourney unless JJ bails us out. Hot take, I think Lowe and JJ just might be our two best players by March.

The bad handle is a bigger hurdle than the hitch. If the hitch still shot it well, it’s an afterthought. But he doesn’t. And he doesn’t handle all that well. And he’s an inconsistent finisher. It’s like there’s almost a reason he’s on no mocks, or none except SI.
I don't think his handle is all that bad. Good enough to drive in the lane in the sec

Thiero isn’t poy caliber. He’s still limited in so many ways and I just don’t see it with him. He’s a nice role player but not first team sec. There are going to be some guys surprise and quite frankly I can’t believe boogie fland isn’t mentioned more. That guy with golden. But hell we have 3-4 guys who could blow up into sec poy and I wouldn’t be surprised. I feel like Hubbard has the inside track but idk he inconsistent and msu will continue to suck. Oweh would be a first team all sec imo coin flip on poy.

😂 Stop it

That dude was barely playable at times last season and this season he’s all SEC? Cmon now. He will be lucky to be first team UK by the end of the season.
I think most people can see his ceiling is very high. I believe Coach Pope is the best thing that could have happened to Brandon Garrison. He’s a major player for us next season.

I don't think Adou, or Condon are legit threats.

Condon is not as good as a lot of people make him out to be. During that NCAAT run, he either got stripped, fumbled the ball, or choked on it way too many times for me to put any trust in him. He appeared to be ppaying for the other team at times.

Florida will have several guys that are better than him.

And yeah, Thiero can be a beast at times, but he's not a guy that can carry a team to a win against legit comp. Heck of a tough guy, wish we still had him, but he's not a POY guy IMO.

I don't normally disagree with Bucs, but I have to here.
Thiero is going to the nba. He will be zero threat to Kentucky

Our fortunes don't rest on the shoulders of Lowe's production and growth. That's why the staff brought in Aberdeen, who also plays point guard.

It’s okay, you’re allowed to be wrong sometimes. LOL!

But seriously, I see where you are coming from, but I think Condon is pretty good and will be better next season if he comes back. He has a lot of room for growth and I think the SEC losing several good frontcourt players will help both Condon and Thiero, if they return.
It's possible Condon just had a bad tournament, but it looked like he struggled with any kind of physicality. I'd like to see what Florida fans have to say about him.
I found myself pulling for Florida in each of their games and Condon just made me shake my head too many times.
But, he has good coaches and I expect him to be better in 25/26, so you could be right abput him being a first team guy.

I don’t necessarily think they “rest” on his shoulders. But I guess that depends on what you mean by fortunes. I don’t think Aberdeen is all that good. He’s a very good option to play 20ish mins/game on a championship level team. Basically what he was at Florida last yr. Hard for me to imagine him being a leading producer on that same level of team. It’s hard for me to envision this team being a championship contender w/o one of Lowe or JJ being REALLY good. If they’re just okay, I think we might be in a group that could, but maybe not should, be in that conversation. If that makes sense.

This conversation just illustrates how much depth this team has. We're going to simply wear some teams out with the waves of talent coming off the bench.

If OO returns this nba experience should really help him upgrade his game skills. Had to get some direct constructive criticism plus seeing what it takes attitude/maturity wise to be a pro. Plus he’s been all basketball with no slacking off.

However, with his brother being a pro I’m sure he wants what brother has in his life.

If he’s doing individual workouts at this point that means he’s hopeful someone will give him guaranteed $$$. Time is up and these 11:59 pullouts I wonder if their heart is in the game. I hope his nil has alot of incentives

Yeah the other big kid for Florida (Haugh) has a bigger upside than Condon IMO. Kid is a player

I thought it would be fun to dig into the stats and our history a bit. Oweh has scored 1082 points while playing for power conference teams so far in his career. Going into a season can anyone name the last UK player to have at least 1082 points while on a major conference team?

I was blown away by the real answer. The technically right answer is kind’ve dumb.

Oscar had over 1100 points at UK.

Without looking it up, my best guess would be Patrick Patterson. We haven’t been prone to returning players that accomplished in a very long time.

Oscar was a beast and should be right if not for sitting out that half year for transferring. He had scored 1023 points before going into his final season at UK.
I'm confused is it going into any season or his final season? One post says "Going into a season can anyone name the last UK player to have at least 1082 points while on a major conference team?" and then you mention it is "his final season".

I mentioned Oscar’s “final season” because he did two with us here. He hadn’t hit over 1082 points in the year in a half at WVU and even when you add his monster first year with us he still falls short of that number by just a bit.

Very good guess. He scored 1020 before his junior season(he left after junior year). He only played 25 games his freshman year or he would have more.
