I've read that on Luis too. Was a turnover machine in the combine scrimmages and his stock is plummeting, but apparently committed to staying in the draft.

Watkins had a great combine and his stock is trending up. Plus he'll be 24 this summer. Wouldn't blame him for wanting to start his NBA clock right now.
I guess so guys are just ready to start a pro career. I would think Luis could make at least 1.5 Mil in college. I really like Watkins, and I think he gets drafted.

Honestly, not a good 24 hours for those wanting Oweh back.

These were 3 names clearly ahead of him on every board.
Three names doesn't mean Oweh will magically appear in the first round. I haven't seen him in the second round on boards. He might be there on some, but again, three names doesn't mean Oweh becomes a first rounder.

If Oweh doesn't come back I would expect UK to throw whatever money was promised to him at an RJ Luis type player.
I hope. It’s exciting adding new players. I love the portal. But hope he comes back would like to add him before anybody else

I think Oweh is back.
I certainly hope he is back.

But I'll say this even before we know, and everyone can have at me: It's not the worst thing in the world if he doesn't come back. This is a Kentucky team with a number of potential break-out stars, from Williams to Johnson to Aberdeen, not to mention Quaintance. And there is no doubt Pope would add someone established to replace Oweh.

I'm not sure Oweh back, with something to prove TO NBA SCOUTS, and determined to be the center of the offense, is that much better than giving several other guys more opportunities.

Again, I expect Oweh to be back. And I hope he comes back with the attitude that he's part of a really talented team and he'll burnish his NBA credentials by playing as part of a team.

If he's not back, Kentucky will be fine.

Not worried either way - I see a guy with shaky handles a inability to finish at the rim until late in games and a quirky J
He is clutch but I don’t see a NBA player at all
We shall see

I’ve thought all along Oweh would not come back. People get mad and say it’s just not logical, but the decisions these kids have made for years often are not. We’re still stacked if that happens, and I won’t be surprised if we add one more guard.
I have not been here to say it but I agree completely.

I wish he would just decide. I’m tired of hearing people on both sides of the stay or go argument acting like they know something.

No one knows. Oweh probably doesn’t know yet whether he is staying in the draft or not.
Maybe. I'd say he probably has a good idea. At least he should.

I've never heard Oweh say 'first round or nothing'.
I hope he comes back, but if he does not then best of luck to him and see if Mark Pope can spin magic this year.

You can if you’d like. No one stopping you. I’d gladly read it. Not sure why you take this as some sort of problem. I only post because the guy who told me this has had some good info in the past.

I know and remember you posted to me that Trilly had predicted Wilkerson to IU. I simply told you that I heard it wasn’t over. Shortly after, we got a visit from him. I wasn’t predicting him or saying my friend said he was coming, only that we weren’t out of it. Seems he was at least right about that. So, same guy told me that he heard Otega was “likely” staying in the draft. That all I know. Could be wrong, and I said that. That’s all. No big deal if you want to call me out. It’s all good. I don’t have any problem with you, I actually like your posts.
My problem with it is this board reads these post's as gospel more than most other places I have seen. So then people start overreacting and this place becomes hard to read.

There's a lot of worst case scenario speculative fear in this thread. Reminds me of a female quilting circle.
Imagine the panic if Oweh actually projected as a first round prospect. Instead, we got doomsday preppers over a late 2nd round projected guy who has a 3M+ contract waiting on him to return to school. It would be hilarious if it weren’t so annoying.

He ain’t going pro, guys. For the millionth and final time.

Exactly. Oweh is still on one board. As the now next to last pick. So let’s just randomly guess he’s the first name not picked on all the other boards. And these three were on all those boards. So now he’s projected as what? The 56th pick? I swear, I’d love to play cards with some of the nervous nellies on here. Goodness.

Is it a hot take to think that Oweh won't be as important to next year's team as he was to this year's team?
I tend to agree. I think we’re better with than without, but I’m not sure it’s all that big of a difference.

All of those plenty capable of contributing. Then JQ if/when he’s good to go.

Do you think any team is going to say he is "maxed out"? He is not pulling out because teams are still talking to him and he has like 20 more hours till he has to pull out of draft. I wish ncaa would allow kids to be drafted and keep their eligibility if no professional team signs them.
Not is as many words but they can convey that. And I think if you go undrafted you maintain eligibility if you haven’t signed with an agent.

OO working out for Brooklyn today. 4 1st round picks for them. If he's ever going to get a 1st round promise this it. I just don't see it happening and expect him back to lead us this year.
I would guess Brooklyn being in a rebuild may trade a couple of those for a piece for the future as well.

I am shocked Yaxel came back. On another hand, Oweh being lower and those dudes returned why wouldn’t he? Makes me sad we didn’t pursue Yaxel a little harder now honestly. I love who we got but imagine JQ and Yaxel front line.

They won’t have time to pursue him. Oweh says “I’m gone” tomorrow at 9pm and pope has 3 hours to convince Luis to forgo the draft for uk. If Oweh leaves it will not be a good look for him. he will not reap the real benefits of being an alum at UK bb after 1 season if his legacy is preventing us from being able to replace him. Idk if he’s been paying attention but pope is swinging for the fences. He’s trying to win a title. He’s had plenty of time to know his draft stock.

The only hope Oweh has to be drafted is forgo college asap and plan to work out for every team until draft day. I think he could hear his name called around the last pick. If that’s what he’s all about good luck. With all said i think he returns pope knows it and this is all for the media and fan consumption.

The obvious replacement in a worst-case scenario of Oweh leaving actual has a pretty nice silver lining: get Caleb Holt to reclassify. He's elite and actually has a very similar slashing game to Oweh, except Holt has potential to be an elite shooter.

He shot 50% from three last summer in the FIBA games, and averaged almost 2 steals per game with his 6'9" wing span.

Oweh will likely come back, but if he doesn't we will land another elite talent.

I agree. Def not trying to start ****. Sometimes I forget and feel like I’m just talking to a few of my friends, as I tend to think of certain posters when I am posting; not the masses. I would consider you in the “few of my friends” group. Either way, I hope he’s back and guess we will know soon.
