Why? Lowe can't hit a free throw, shoots unwarranted threes and commits turnovers, but the real issue?? Pope got out coached and his team is soft, we got out rebounded, out hustled, out physicalled, out shot and they played lights out defense. We were fortunate to only lose by 8

Because those 4 battled. That’s why. Oweh isn’t even competing. It’s embarrassing. Those other 4 will get better and chemistry will improve.
If Lowe and Aberdeen hit those free throws down 4 then it would have been tied and potentially a different ending.

Coach better and I think he will as he figures this team out.
Mo is a good defender and rebounder but he is limited skill wise. Jelly and Kam should get more of those minutes.

We need to be tougher for sure but there were some bad calls and some no calls that went against us. They damn near doubled us at the F/T line.

pope needs to roll with the guys who will go out there and fight and play for each other.

I think he’s struggling a bit with his new role this year. He’s a great complementary piece who can do a little bit of everything on a team that has scoring options ahead of him. I’m not sure he’s actually a superstar who can put a championship level team on his back despite the preseason accolades he’s been getting. Defenses are keying on him more than they did last year, and he seems to be pressing a little bit trying to deliver on the expectations.

We had too many lineups throughout the night with mostly subpar shooters on the floor, that’s on pope.

We did not change anything up defensively, that’s on Pope.

overall a very poorly coached game by Pope as he really doesn’t have a clue at the moment on his most productive lineups. But have to give UofL credit, they really came to play and played really well. Pope has to get his **** together though, that was a really bad coaching performance tonight.

Oweh is playing for NBA scouts more so than Pope, for $3M he is hands down one of more overpaid players in CBB this season, he’s at best our third best player. He’s trying to demonstrate he can shoot from outside and is avoid contact and potential injury in hopes of being drafted.

He is for sure skilled enough to be doing more and producing more than he is so far this season. It is about his lack of effort and being that dog he was last year.

This is what happens when the NBA is on your mind, he can’t play this year based on what he did last year. He has to go above and beyond that to be player of the year. He made several turnovers and forced to many shots and missed them. He was also outplayed by both of their guards on both ends of the floor.
