Owen's Kenny Ford will retire. Will be a big loss and also will be a big opening. I would say a lot of folks put in for this one.

Hate to see coach Ford leave but I wish him the best.I will never forget that state playoff game between the Bears and War Horses at W.C.U.That call to go for two and the win was a gutsy call.He came up about a foot short but it was a hell of a call.I know a lot of the Bears fans were holding their breath.Coach enjoy your retirement you've earned it.

It was the right call too. It didn't work out but I think it was the right call. By the way not being a butt but it was the last game of the regular season that year. Not playoffs
We lost to Shelby in the 3rd round that year. 2004 football 2005 graduating class I believe.

Yeah I was wrong old age will do that.I remember going to Owen when they played Maiden in the playoffs ,don't remember what year.Do remember it was really cold and here comes coach Ford on to the field in shorts.I was setting on the Maiden side because they were no seats on the Owen side those folks couldn't believe it.Not many coaches stay at the same school like he has.Like I said before nothing but respect for him.

I remember thomasville played Owen for the 1991 west championship and coach was wearing a pair of shorts that freezing night,may God bless him in whatever he does.

Is Ford's retirement immediate, or is he going to Coach one more season for the Warhorses?

As for Joey Robinson, I think it would be a home run hire, especially since he would also bring his son who is a Sophomore QB that is going to be something in a year or two!

The one name I am hearing the most right now for the position is TC Roberson's Nathan Padgett. He is there Head Coach for JV and is a Owen ALUMNI.
