spelling the town name wrong here & there - sorry

Is anyone here fm Owensboro?
Do you remember this movement of Afghani people in your area ?

If so - can you comment on the "international center" thats mentioned? Who is that and do you see a continued , similar role being provided by them?

My parents church is allowing them to use the kitchen because most of them aren’t living in places that have kitchens. That was a few months ago so that may have changed. They also deliver food to many of them

it is coordinated through the International center. But I don’t know a whole lot about it, just what my mom tells me from time to time

There are also people from Africa and south east Asia as well, but I don’t recall which countries

DHS website lists some data on overall #s of afghani newcomers - notes the military bases they're being processed at -- but then just states they're released "into communities" to start their new lives -

Im curious and will read up on "The international order" -- my assumption is it's probably a catholic institution - will check

Theyre centered in Bowling Green - have been there since the early 80s - doesn't really mention any financial supporters aside fm their relationship with the US State Dept

Never have heard of them - interesting

Of course i know NOTHING about Bowling Green/Western KY
