And I can't say that I would blame them. All that money and work they've put into hosting. I know I'd be slightly more than pissed if I was in the UM/Oxford administration.

Upon further review, however, it looks as though it will only be postponed.

it sucks for the state but man it really sucks for oxford. the article says nothing yet about rescheduling since they don't know if it is going to actually be postponed just yet.

in and around the delta. How dare he snub those constituents?

I guess we should have expected something like this as weak as McCain is on the economy. If the election hinges on the economy, McCain is in deep ****. Instead of trotting back to DC to lead the socialist charge, he best be lining up the CIA to create some Al Qaeda style terrorism and change the subject.

Campus is already a mess. They have had roads closed for weeks now, and secret service (in large numbers) has been around for about a month. While it is a great thing and I'm really proud for MS and UM to have it, it has totally turned everything upside down. Also, what happens if it gets postponed to a football weekend. Talk about a CF and security nightmare.

Someone who cares give us a schedule breakdown of OM home games and the other debates. That should narrow it down.

Apparently the idea that God hates Ole Miss has now been proven. There are some great posts about it.

I think it sucks too but I have to admit it does have some comedic quality to it.

because the media will report that McCain canceled the debate that was to have been held at Mississippi State.

Good call, and they'll probably mention how the city of Hattiesburg is going to take a hit for losing the debate.

**** has hit fan in Oxford. Nafoom has imploded as well as the overall rebel nation. Lets keep negative things going their way while we got an upper hand. Loss to Vandy, Lost the debate.....

The presidential debates were September 30 at the University of Miami, October 8 at Washington University in St. Louis, and October 13 at Arizona State University.

I think people would remember all the different protestors & Anthony Hervey trying to get another 15 minutes of fame more than anything else...

but rather the thousands of media is what is important. This debate is the biggest opportunity Ole Miss, Oxford, the entire state of Mississippi has had/will have to actually have a positive effect on the perception of the state that is held by so many outsiders. Subtle changes in perception over time is what it will take if we are ever to be viewed as anything other than the cast from Mississippi Burning or In the Heat of the Night. And, like Oxford or not, it isn't exactly a bad place for people to visit who may have wondered if we even had indoor plumbing.
