What do you ride and where do you ride???

I just bought a 2013 Harley Streetglide and a group of friends (8 bikes) leaving from the Memphis area this Saturday are going to Gulf Shores for 7 days.

I still have a 2006 Heritage Classic and letting one of my buddies ride it with us then I will put it up for sale when we get back.

Have a 2002 Road King and a 2007 Ducati Multistrada. I have done that trip several times, Gulf Port and Biloxi also. The best trip was when four of us shipped our bikes to Portland Maine and flew up to pick them up. We took a ferry to Nova scotia and wound our way back down the east coast for seven days.

Yeah that's one I want to do too. A buddy of mine and me are talking about flying out there and rent a couple of bikes and riding the Pacific Coast.

Just be careful.
I have had 5 folks I worked with all get killed while riding.
NONE of those victims were at fault.

This is exactly why I don't and will never have a motorcycle. I don't care how careful you are, there are people out there texting, drinking, and talking on the phone, all while driving a much larger vehicle than you. I would suspect that most motorcycle accidents are not the cyclists fault.

This scares the **** out of me about them. All it takes is one time. You have zero protection from a serious impact. I've known too many get seriously injured (paralyzed) or killed in an accident they had no way to prevent.

I've ridden Hwy 1 from Pismo Beach to Monterey. You won't regret it.

I did about 75 miles from Malibu North in a car two years ago and that part is not even considered the most scenic, it gave me a huge bug to do all of it on a motorcycle one day.

Riding for 60+ years with over 600K on 2 wheels. Most miles were on BMWs or GoldWings. Heart attack and triple by-pass 28 months ago sent me a Can-Am Spyder, currently a 2014 RT Ltd.

When I was growing up it was amazing (in a bad way) how many people in our small town had lost a leg from a riding accident.

How much you want for the 06 Classic?

My starting price is $10,900.00. This bike is beautiful and after this trip it will have over 14,000 miles. New front and rear tires, lots of chrome, and the one thing i've done to this bike since its a twin cam is removed the chain driven cams and went back with S&S 546 gear driven big cams. The chain drive cam tensioners eventually fail and can cause severe damage to the motor so I didn't ever want that worry and that cost me $1,100.00. it also has a Dynojet Power Vision Programmer. This is top of the line tuners for bikes.
PM me if you want to know more and I will give you my phone number if you have any further questions.

My buddy and I would haul our bikes behind the rv and head out to Pagosa Springs, Co,and Durango area and ride in the area up to Silverton, Uray and other points.. Both of us had Road King Classics. This was during the time they had a rally down on the Ute Indian reservation at Ignacio, The gangs from the west coast would be coming into the rally about the time we would be leaving late in the afternoon, them some rough customers, most were trying to take weapons in, some had multicell flashlights, which I assume they were afraid of the dark hence them carrying them. (duh), into the rally , but the deputies were pretty well searching . They were a pretty tough looking bunch , let me tell you!

I fell in love with the area and bought a house and 35 acres at Chromo, which is about 25 miles from Pagosa Springs. Since I was at 8000 ft on a winding dirt road up to my place , I never hauled my bike out there during the time I kept he place, Eventually sold out there just before the housing market fell and made a profit. I just saw that the owner just listed the place for 100k less than I sold it to him and that's just his asking price.

I am afraid of heights, and while riding on the mountain roads ,kept pretty well to the center of the lane , especially where the edge of the road beds fell off into the deep chasms My buddy told me that was getting awfully close to those log trucks coming up or down the mountains, told him I rather take my chances with them than going off one of those durn cliffs...

Inevitably the offending vehicle driver admits: ................................................................................

"I never saw him."
