Admittedly, I don’t follow a lot of Pa High School wrestling but a couple of Freshman from Bishop McCort caught my eye recently. Both Bo Bassett and Jax Forrest are impressive to watch, especially considering their relative age.

I might be late to the party, but just curious what people who have better insight than me think?

Should be interesting to watch them these next couple weeks.

use the Search feature. It's the looking glass that's on the top right of the menu bar.

1. click on the Search icon
2. from the Search window, enter "Bassett" or "Forrest" in the Search line
3. select "This Forum" from the drop-down arrow to the right of the Search line
4. select "Search" at the bottom of the Search window

The resulting window will provide links to a lot of posts about both of the wrestlers about whom you asked. We've discussed them a great deal. PSU, and every college program, is well aware of them. They are freshmen, so keep that in mind.

If you meant years (instead of weeks), I'd certainly agree with you. If you really did mean weeks, in terms of PIAA competitions, Bishop McCort is on probation, and as a result can not participate in the PIAA Wrestling States this year.

I did mean weeks because I didn’t realize they were still on probation, and individuals weren’t eligible. That really sucks for those kids.

Are they clear to participate next year?

I think they are eligible next year. McCort has had its fair share of controversy going back to its first year of wrestling in 2016.

The ban was for the 2021-2022 wrestling season, and he 2022-2023 wrestling season. As such, they are eligible for regular season and postseason competition within the PIAA next year (2023-2024 season).

Tom, thank you for indulging my post, I’m obviously more than a few steps behind on this saga.

But all drama aside, these kids are going to be fun to watch into the foreseeable future and I can’t wait to see where they end up at the next level (Hope it’s Penn State!).

Bummer. Sidun looked like a 4x state champ. He was 30-0 this year, winning Beast of the East, Powerade, and Doc Buchanan. He beat Freddy Bachmann, Lukas Littleton-Mascaro 2x, Paul Kenny, and Rocklin Zinkin among others.
