Pac-12 miscalculated the market, got out-played by a rival & is now teetering on collapse.

I think the PAC 12 is and was screwed no matter what they do. At least 2 more of their number are likely to leave the PAC 12 for the Big 10 and what's left is nothing special. Only option is to bring programs like Boise, Hawaii, or SDSU in or try to poach the Big 12's western flank. However the Big 12 teams should see it as the, at best, lateral move it is with legal and financial headaches to make the move. Now they are facing needing 5 replacements after CU goes and any team without a chance at the Big 10 or SEC would be stupid not to join the Big 12 if they ask.

I believe the PAC 12 died when their attempt at taking over Big 12 members Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State failed due to not wanting Longhorn Network as part of the deal.

I thought for sure Stanford would throw their weight around and prevent this, but I guess the stereotypes about them are true and they just simply don’t care? Can see them going the way of the Ivys and deemphasizing football.
