The Huskies will be an affiliate competing in wrestling…

One team in the MWC & one in the Pac-12…

Ya know, I've got nothing against N.Ilinois from joining another conference, but this type crap is just another nail in the coffin of college football as we know it. I cannot tell you what teams and which sports are in what conferences other than the SEC. Then to try and keep up with players and where they go each year is just too much for me. There is no such thing as logic, loyalty, and common sense in college sports. It's officially a Cluster 17. Time for me to learn and spend time in fly fishing.

What some of these schools are doing with football only is the model that it should be for everything. Let the Olympic sports and even the others including baseball basketball and volleyball etc join up to make regionally based conferences.

Affiliate memberships in conferences for certain sports aren't uncommon. Northern Illinois is moving to the Horizon League in every sport the Horizon League offers. The Horizon League doesn't offer football or wrestling, so they have to find other conferences for that. Kentucky and South Carolina are the only SEC schools that offer men's soccer, so they are affiliate members of the Sun Belt Conference in that sport, since the SEC doesn't offer it.

Kind of funny that they’re going to have a foot in both the Mountain West and the Pac-12 since they’re currently suing each other.

That’s why I mentioned those specific affiliations in the original post… 😂
