I have never judged your posts, because they reflect your honest opinion, do they not? I think you totally misunderstood the intent of what I was saying. There is a shortage of certified HVAC techs that start out at $50 k down here, the same is true of welders, plumbers and other blue collar workers. There are kids with BA degrees asking, "Do you want fries with that?" It's not fair to the school, the kids or their parents to make them think a college degree is the only way to make it. I have my degree and I worked hard for it. It's in criminal justice and has served me well. But now that I'm retired I am seriously thinking about HVAC repair. I was a Charleston cop for 26 years among other things. I do care about the people of WV, adults and children. We are not only smart, we also have a blue collar mentality which is sorely needed. I believe any Mountaineer who wants to go to college and is willing to prepare for it should be able to without cost. But in exchange, a degree in political science doesn't make for a good investment. Many others do. I do not know it all, far from it. But I am willing to listen to and consider those who disagree with me, are you? You may know things that I would love to know, and I will listen to (or read) your thoughts and ideas. Sometimes I do not agree with you and I respectfully indicate it, but guess what? If you could go back and check you would find times I did, even if your take on a given subject wasn't popular. I know, I talk to much. I am an avid Mountaineer fan stranded in South Carolina. You guys are important to me, that's why I'm here.
