on 9-7-08 I wrote when discussing the Saints:

One thing that makes guys like Peyton Manning, Brees, etc. great players is stability off the field.

VegasDawg13 responded with:

This has to be joke, right? I mean, you're not really that dumb?

Well, since stability off the field doesn't matter, how many tackles and interceptions will PacMan Jones have over the next four games?

I'm pretty sure you're taking that completely out of context. That's been a while, but I'm pretty sure you said that in reference to those players' personal relationships, which is completely different.

In other words, you were claiming that one of the reasons those guys are great quarterbacks is because they are happily married and have no tabloid headlines, completely ignoring the fact that the best quarterback of his generation (Tom Brady) has had a well-publicized tabloid scandal, Troy Aikman was never married and rumored to be gay, Joe Namath's mny antics, etc.

None of this has anything remotely to do with Pacman Jones.

Stability off the field isn't that big of deal.

Signed - Brandon Marshall, Ray Lewis, Tank Johnson, etc.

You make a thread to call me out and after one post, you go with "agree to disagree"?

In other words, you did take my quote completely out of context and were hoping I wouldn't remember.

Edit:

I found the thread. This was your whole quote:

"I thought Bush looked better than in previous years. He seemed more willing to hit the hole rather than dance around in the backfield. I noticed that the ***** Kardashian was in attendance. He should boot her to the curb, find himself a decent girl, and focus on football. One thing that makes guys like Peyton Manning, Brees, etc. great players is stability off the field. Romo has found that out. Kardashian is a distraction. Also, he is liable to catch some STD that the disabled list has never seen before."

You were implying that if Reggie Bush stopped dating Kim Kardashian, he would become a better player. Dumb.

Also, a reasonable person would infer that the "stability" you spoke of was relationship stability. You cited two examples supporting this while ignoring countless examples that contradicted it. Also, dumb.

for when pacman <17>ed up again? If its something reasonable, do you see pacman getting the boot from Dallas and in turn settling up for the compensation? This could be one reason for giving up so much for Roy Williams.

My point which I didn't explain well enough in September was don't let outside distractions affect your football. Sure Brady is in the tabloids. But he hasn't let his outside issues affect his film study, game preparation. etc. Sean Payton said himself that Bush had stayed in New Orleans and worked out with the team during the offseason, and that had gone along way with his teammates. Tramps like Kardashian will change that if Bush lets her. I don't think that is dumb, and every coach in the NFL will agree with me.

The reason I said agree to disagree is that I now realize that I don't think you totally understood my point at the time (which has merit), and maybe I am just now totally understanding yours (which also has merit). My mistake for calling you out. Poor judgement on my part. Apologies all around.

Kardashian is a distraction
Yeah, you could definitely say that.

Titans got a 4th from Dallas in the 2008 draft, and they used that pick on California WR Lavelle Hawkins (who has yet to make a regular season catch, by the way).

IF Jones had not been reinstated this season, the Titans would have had to give back a 4th in the 2009 draft. If he was "available" the whole season, the Titans would have also gotten a 6th round pick in the 2009 draft. However, since he has played some this season already and is now going to be suspended, the Titans have to give the Cowboys a 5th in the 2009 draft. There were also some money issues involved, including Jones forfeiting some bonus money and making a donation to a charity of the Titans organization's choice.

Personally, as a Titans fan, I'm glad he's someone else's problem now.

if Pacman had never been re-instated, but I can't understand why they would agree to give them anything due to Pacman screwing up again. If that was truly part of the deal, it was a stupid move by the Titans.

Also, for the love of god, can Jeff Fischer hire someone that has some inkling of an ability to scout receivers? Their receiving core is laughable and it's been that was for years.
