He's probably buying UNUSED "new" clubs that are previous year's model. I played AP2s for the past 8 years...and they released about 70 models/versions of them during that span -- no doubt you could find deals on those.

For example, you can get NEW MP 64's at heavily discounted prices right now...I'm talking about NEW, as in never used AND the newly released models.

If you can find 2016 Mizuno MP25s $400 off, I'll send you my set (played 3 rounds) for free and buy another.

(I'm done with this conversation)

You aren't good enough to play blades, pretty simple.

Anyone who knows anything knows Mizuno irons are outstanding.

Golf Digest State Rankings....August 2015

  1. (1) Valhalla G.C. (above), Louisville †
  2. (2) The Club at Olde Stone, Bowling Green
  3. (3) Hurstbourne C.C. (Championship), Louisville
  4. (5) Big Spring C.C., Louisville
  5. (6) Keene Trace G.C. (Champion Trace), Nicholasville
  6. (9) Triple Crown C.C., Union
  7. (7) Dale Hollow State Park G. Cse., Burkesville ★
  8. (-) Old Silo G. Cse., Mount Sterling ★
  9. (-) Traditions G.C., Hebron
  10. (-) Kearney Hill G. Links, Lexington ★

Have played all but Big Spring, and that is a pretty good list, and the top five above would surely be in the top 10 or so, but cannot believe the actual top ten in Kentucky would not include the likes of Idle Hour and Lexington CC, plus several candidates from Jefferson County, like Louisville CC, Persimmon, Hunting Creek, etc.

By the way, they have let Old Silo run down to a POS, it is in awful shape these days. When it opened, that was a really unique course, and one of my favorites.

Played Olde Stone for the first time in February when it was unusually warm, and loved the place, hit nearly every club in my bag, that is a great track.

Ok. Deal.

When/where do you play? Lots of good golfers on catpaw, but the only golfer here I wouldn't be silly enough to bet straight up against is Fields...if you're the 2nd, props -- but you wouldn't "dust" ****.

I love how as soon as someone calls out BBDK he automatically calls for a ban. I feel bad that drainthatub and allabouttheUK made and stated their opinions on certain things only to have BBDK tell them how big of idiots they are.

I doubt Idle Hour is going to let a rep from Golf Digest come play/rate....would serve no purpose for them. It is well known that IH is always top notch despite their reputation.

And you are correct on Old Silo which is disappointing. Great layout in a terrible area, and it has been for sale/sold a couple times going back thru the years.

I can't believe it took 8 pages for someone to challenge someone else to a match. Also I thought BBdK was afraid of Slevin on the golf course.

We can play whenever wherever. How many "shots a side" do u need? Because I'm sure you are one of those. Or will be after I make quick work of you...

Dunno, how many you want to give me? I hover between a 2-4 index these days, depending on what events I have coming up at my sandbagging club. :sunglasses:

I was wondering if this guy (or Fargenbastard) wasn't Slevin. I asked that dude to play 50 times in between his constant temper tantrums.

Idle hour and lcc are the only legit courses in Lexington. Golf courses in ky are ****** in general if you have played enough "nice" courses across the country

Champions is ok too, but just a notch below ihcc and lcc. I've never kept a handicap but have won my fair share of events. Sandbagging is for pussies/hacks

@drainthatub If you are really going to play him, I would suggest a third party (not suggesting myself) to be there that way it can't be argued when you guys come back on here after the fact.

It was a joke.

Not having a handicap is Definitely for pussies and hacks though. Way to dance around though, predictable.

What do you consider legit? You don't put Kearney in that category? It did have a senior event there for 8 years, btw. Gary Player loved it. And fwiw....the LPGA wants to come to Kearney but sponsors are balking.

And I have played "nice" courses all over the country....Destin, Orlando, LA, Maui, Sawgrass, Miami, Myrtle, HH, LV, and even a club in Buffalo of all places that was sweet. Calling KY courses ****** in general is an incorrect pompous *** statement. KY has some beautiful golf courses.

^ dude is coming across like a complete dbag, for sure.

Put yourself out there. I've played golf with 30-40 people that post here, I'm not much of a secret. Used to be a good player, who now plays for fun and attempts to remain somewhat competitive -- love to gamble and play with good players, and welcome a challenge from pretty much anyone, in anything.

What's your name? Where did/do you play? What are all the amazing events you won, despite never even having a handicap ?

...or just hush.

Don't need to prove myself. I've probably beat you in plenty of tournaments if you've played around here for a while. I let my game do the talking...

FWIW, the "OK" track I belong to (Champions) has been the US Open qualifier and site of two Ky Opens, won by Steve Flesch and JB Holmes. Also, just about to reopen, new owners closed it last August and totally redid the greens with poa resistant grass developed by Purdue Univ, also cut way down on rough around greens. Really pumped to see what the place looks like.

Tough ****. It's a Kentucky course, so it sucks.
