I really hope he is not our coach. I live in Lexington and told all my UK friends last night that State was considering Payne and they all laughed. The first thing they said was we should be going after Antigua and that Robic and Rod Strickland would be better than Payne. The only reason he is at UK is to recruit the west coast (Jones and Wiltjer). This would be a horrible hire IMO.

This is getting real annoying. At times I enjoy reading your rumors and whatnot, but it doesn't count when you make up a million different scenarios and then at the end say, "see, I was right all along". The sad thing is there will be plenty of people on this board that will think you knew everything all along.

Seriously, at one point you said we wouldn't hire a guy with strong ties to AAU, but now we are going to hire a coach that has strong ties (only reason he is a coach) to what most people consider the "King" of AAU. You went from one extreme to the other in a couple days time. I know your response will be "That is what happens in a coaching search", "Stricklin realized we couldn't survive without AAU, so he decided to fight fire with fire and get the shadiest AAU guy we could find".
