Paging Todd, other baseball-knowledgeable posters

We just got a new commitment from GA. 2014 middle infielder Ryan Gridley. Says he is ranked #234 in 2014 by perfect game. Wondering what that would be comparable to in football? Also, anything else anyone knows about him.

Says he was being recruited by UGA, Ga Tech, Clemson, and USCe. Obviously that doesn't mean he was offered, but I also know offers are kind of held out until both player and team know where they stand (gauged interests, how much money available, etc.).

Any info would be appreciated.

His team was very young in Georgia

last year and they won the championship, and at least at one time before the playoffs, he was hitting .385. There is a youtube video of him hitting a home run, but I don't know how many he hit this past year. Georgia is a really strong state for baseball, and he was rated a 9.5 by Perfect Game. He is one of the top shortstops in the country per them, but he is only 5'9". I think we might move him to the outfield- we have Luke Alexander and Dale Burdick committed and both of them are middle infielders. It looks like he runs pretty well also.

His HS team has a freshman catcher that I think we might be in on too.

Nothing new

He said about a week ago that he was waiting to see what kind of offers he was going to get. I'm thinking he is going to commit to someone in the spring the way he was talking.
