I love the fire Brands comments lol as if anyone with common sense thought we'd have a chance... guys penn st is a all world team, what happened was gonna happen 9 out of 10 times... ryder looked decent vs #1, Bailey had a good period, peterson came to scrap, Williams didnt quit, Caliendo was there, PK didnt lose... theres some positives about this dual

Now imagine how bad it would be WITHOUT Bob’s support. Last night there would be no Peterson, Bailey, Williams, or Caliendo (and this is ignoring the NIL dollars that surely helped land #1 P4P guys like Ferrari and Keuter).

So does Bob’s support Hawkeye wrestling or the Brands? Seems like many assume the Bob money train would dry up if the Brands brothers are no longer the coaches. Would it though?

Dangerous thing when a donor holds a program and its fans hostage from advancing forward just because of his personal likeness of someone.

Apathy will continue to build regardless of what the donor wants. We saw it happen with the men’s basketball program. It’s painful to watch happen.

My counter to that is those “purchases” of talent isn’t really doing much for Iowa wrestling overall as far as it being as strong as they were even a few years ago.

You think if Brands is fired, and thus donor goes away completely, Iowa wrestling is dead and sunk? I’d say absolutely not- even at the expense of rebuilding a bit. We don’t know how many increased dollars come to the table simply because a change is made- likely more than you think.
