not sure what to make of that score from the pal perspective. I would have liked to have seen a 14 point victory. It's week 1...gonna have to keep an eye out, but really thought the offense, from what i've heard around here, would have put up more than 28 points.

From my understanding, the Stevie Offense had the ball for extended periods of time. Lots of long drives. Purely speculating since I didn't see the game, but that may have contributed to that "low" score.

The game was on CSN100. I watched a lot of it last night. Stevenson seemed to outgain Palatine by a significant margin. Stevie turned the ball over often. That's what did them in. Also, Palatine's pass defense came up big in key moments. Stevie has a number of weapons for QB O'Connel. Palatine has a number of playmakers as well. It was a very entertaining game.

I am tinkering with my DSR. Obviously this week is huge. Palatine got some extra points in my DSR for a road win at quality opponent.

Ironically, Palatine outplayed Stevenson last year and lost 26-24; this year Stevenson outplayed Palatine and yet Palatine won 28-20.

Stevenson's offense is really, really good..PHS had some big time players make some big time plays when it mattered. Stevenson had the ball inside Palatine's 20 yard line four times and inside the 5 yard line twice in the second half and got zero points.

Additionally, I think Oles may have been a little overly pumped up for the game. He overthrew wide open guys a few times. That I can recall, I think they could have had 3 more TDs if they'd connected. Trust me, they'll be fine...I think they just really, REALLY wanted this game and managed to do what they needed to for the win.

Hopefully tonight satisfied JCHILLTOPPERS, 27-0 at end of 1st quarter, 41-0 with 4:55 left until halftime..all scrubs after that point.
