Let me make myself clear -would bang- but Erin has ridden her fame from when she was a spring chicken right into a **** ton of money. I haven't seen that much of an undeserved upward trajectory since Mike D'antoni.

Agree. She's hot, but she's not THAT hot. And she's annoying as hell.

Had no idea Pam was 53. I guess it's kinda like football. There is always some younger talent fighting to get your job.

She's a hack. Her only saving grace was that she was hot, but her appeal was to 19 year old drunk guys yelling that they loved her at College Gameday... And even though I'd rather look at Erin Andrews than Pam Oliver, Pam Oliver actually had interesting questions (or at least as unique and interesting as sideline questions can possible be) and I felt like she did a good job.

17ing Fox.

Which makes one wonder, what dirt does Doris Burke have on...

the higher ups at the WorldWideLeader? Even at her age Hannah Storm would be a major upgrade.

Hot blondes on the sidelines are a dime a dozen now. Erin Andrews may have been the original, but she's nothing special anymore. There are plenty of attractive sideline reporters that don't have a voice that sounds like nails on a chalkboard like Erin Andrews does.

But you need to pick one of them with some significant experience and name recognition so it's not indisputable that you are treating sideline reporter as essentially a modeling job. That's what it should be in my opinion, but that's not what people want to admit to.

Doris Burke is where she is because she knows her ****. She was an outstanding college basketball player and that has translated into an ability to break down what is happening on the court for audiences. She is well spoken, doesn't go over the top with platitudes and praise, and she has the respect of even NBA players thru sideline reporting and being an in game analyst.

You see Burke for 5% of the time she is on air during games. I don't care if an analyst/commentator is hot or not. If I don't care that Marv Albert is a fuggo, then why should I care what women analysts look like?

There's a reason you only see Pam from the shoulders up. The bottom is as big as a Volkswagon.

Van Gundy is fantastic as a color guy- he criticizes players, coaches, team management, and the Association when deserved. He will toss ideas out and see if they stick and when they bomb, he is the first to then make fun of himself.
Commentators are loved and hated. The same characteristics that some love, others cant stand.

I just think its terrible to judge one commentator on looks while ignoring all the others just because the one commentator is female. There are fuggos all over the place as announcers and commentators for NBA and college games. Its sad that only one has appearance/desirability as a qualifier for if she deserves to be a commentator.

I usually don't like female analysts or announcers for men's sports, but I do like Doris Burke on NBA games and Kara Lawson on men's college basketball games. Both of them know their stuff and command respect because of that instead of how good they would look in a red carpet dress. I'd listen to Burke or Lawson 100 times before Vitale, Digger Phelps or Bill Simmons.
