I have a blue pass for tomorrow

How muddy will it be for tomorrow’s game?
Depends where. There will likely be some puddles in low spots (like the front), but the rest will likely be ok, but wet, especially since we'll have 8-12 hours of light to no rain after around 10-11 pm, allowing for some drainage. We're in a bit of a lull now and for a few hours, probably, as the heaviest rain has remained to the east of the TPK (from about Woodbridge to the GWB) and along/east of the Parkway from Woodbridge down through Monmouth County. This makes it more likely that the Pway area will not get more than 2-3" (about 1.5" so far with maybe 1" more to come), which means that the lots would not be in bad shape except in a few spots. May have to go over and look later today...

The SE corner of the lot will be brutal. The rest of the lot will be manageable is my guess.

Johnson is very different from everywhere else. I just posted this in the weather thread, but this evening around 6 pm, I decided to drive over and inspect the lots and the vast majority of yellow and blue are just damp, except near the very front, which is a low point and has some puddles (more in blue than yellow). And given we have not had much rain since 6 pm and we don't expect more than maybe another 1/4" (if that), I'm pretty sure those puddles will be gone by 8 am, given some continued slow drainage in the lots. Retired life, lol.

As I said in another thread, I didn't think we'd have any issues in yellow/blue, given that 2 years ago, after P’way got 8”+ of rain from Ida on a Wednesday night before a Thursday night game, I went out to the lots around noon on Thursday and remarkably, they were all fairly dry except near the low points in the front – they postponed the game, anyway, because of record flooding from the Raritan River throughout NB/P’way (we’ve had no flooding today and none is expected since <1/2” of additional rain is likely).

So, hopefully the lots are in good shape and we only have a few brief showers before noon and none after that and we get to see some sunshine during the game and blow out Wagner and don't have any key injuries and then beat WI and MSU to become bowl eligible...

Did you happen to see how the 4th spot, 3rd row from the Bubble (Green lot) was looking?

That's where the puddles were around 6 pm. My guess is the puddles will be gone by 8 am, assuming we get little rain from here on out (~0.1" shown in the models from now until then). The rest of the lot is already fine, as per my inspection at 6 pm.

I know the decision was already made by Piscataway/Middlesex but were you able to take peek at Johnson Park?

I only drove past a small part and could see some puddles, so not surprised, given how much more poorly JP drains compared to the RU lots.

anticipated wind speed and direction in yellow in the a.m.? this will impact soil and grass drying time more than the temperature.

Well, with all the fat old men eating and drinking, the release of various warm gases will likely help with that drying as much as the wind...

What is going on weather wise right now?

Still rain, although lighter, at the Shore. Like an Irish morning.

Green lot was a little squishy depending upon where you were.
The pathway from the busses to the River Road entrance in Johnson Park was like that too.

IMO overall it didn’t look too bad but I’m not the one who makes that decision.
