I didnt make it to the game man but young Dawson had 2 Td's for the Blues. Finished with 21 Carries for 53 yards and a ~30 yard catch and run to set up the second TD. KJ was running hard but gotta give Rockbridge credit, they stopped the Blues run for the most part. I doubt we had any runs for more than 5 yards all night..maybe one or two. The Blues QB looked good from what I heard.
Rockbridge had two chances to take the lead, the first chance was right before halftime where an apparent go-ahead TD was called back for holding and the Blues held. And then with 4 seconds left and at the 5 yard line Rockbridge's QB accidentally spiked it on 4th down to seal the win for PM.
The Blues had a chance to ice the game but were stuffed at the goalline with 5 minutes left.
Exciting game between two very young teams. I think the Blues will win between 5-7 games this year and that big O-line should gel as the season continues. The big test is this week vs. a Gap squad that was up 50-0 on Fort Defiance at halftime before cruising to a 62-14 victory.
All in all a win I'll happily take considering this really is a new look Blues team all around.
And fast fact of the day: This is PM's first 3 game winning streak vs. the Wildcats. Ever.
