2 first rounders to Dallas, and they don’t have to pay him $47 million per year. As one of his biggest detractors, I’ll say it’s certainly not the worst move Jerry has made.

ETA: They also got Kenny Clark, a 3-time Pro Bowl DT, most recently in 2023. He’s 29 and may not have much left in the tank, but Dallas had probably the worst pair of defensive tackles in the league last year. So, definitely a needed upgrade to that position group as well.

Yeah, you can't spend QB money on a defensive player, no matter how great the player is.

Gotta say I don't hate it. Love his talent but there have been rumors way before this year that he's not the best locker room guy. Once he laid down on that table while guys were trying to make the team/a living I lost some respect for him....which I'm sure he cares.

NO PLAYER is bigger than the Cowboys and don't piss Jerah off.....Emmit, Dak, CD all had tough contract negotiations but they didn't disrespect the Cowboys or Jerah....that dude has a major ego and Parsons major ego wasn't going to push Jerah around.

Hey, he got his money and we got some #1 picks and a solid nose tackle which is a huge need. We will have a drop off for sure but edge is a position that has some depth....not Parsons type depth but solid depth. Good luck to him....I'm sure he'll haunt us if he gets the chance but I'm still glad we didn't pay that much for a non QB.

But he paid Zeke ? But tbh if I owned a team it would be filled with cheap players. Ain't no way I'm paying these guys that kind of money
Zeke acted completely different. Parsons was viewed as Jerah's pet, they were close, as stupid as I think a handshake deal over that amount of money is Jerah believed it. When it started going south Jerah felt betrayed. The end of this was about ego not money.

He is a great player. We have to wait to see how this plays out since that includes two first round draft picks
Doesn’t matter how great he is. If $47 million per year was the asking price, he had no future in Dallas….so good on them for pulling in a haul for his services. They had absolutely no path to extending him for that much after the Dak / CeeDee deals.

Green Bay seems to think they have s SB window for the next 2-3 years. If they are right and Parsons helps them win one, then it’s a good deal for them. If literally anything else happens, its a pretty bad deal for them. They gave up a ton.

Parsons went from $4M/year to $47M/year, now the highest paid NFL defensive player in history. Jones said he would do $45M with Parsons next season.

Green Bay is all in on 2025 and all in on Parsons. Their salary cap is toast for several years.

This is headed all the same place as NIL. You will have 3-4 elite talent players that make signficantly more than anyone else. The game is now just a financial game, what happens on the field is a distant second.

Parsons is a known commodity and a game changing player similar to Chris jones. You trade for a good player and two unknowns. Cowboys will probably trade those picks away for a dumb running back or something.

If true the delta was $2M/year....just being in Dallas on the Cowboys is well worth that. I was bracing for Jerah to cave and jack the cap for rest of the decade.

Exactly. Dallas not being know for their draft prowess. They are going to get late first round picks.
Separate issue if they can’t cash on the picks. But outside of QB’s…..first round picks tend to pan out way more often than not.

Either way, they had to trade him, and its hard to land a better haul than two 1sts and a Pro Bowl DT for a single player.

They have been pretty dog gone good drafting for the last 4/5 years. Sure some mistakes. But the reason they have him to trade is bc they drafted him. And lamb etc. how bout the dumbasses that passed on both they didn't have them as positions of need and took them anyway. So the draft isn't their problem.

They said on the news this morning, Parsons and his agent went to Jones this weekend and tried to patch things up. But the senile old fart, my words not theirs, couldn't get his ego out of the way.

Parsons agent is well known for one sided hostage negotiations. He had no intent of accepting anything other than league best. Tell me again about Jones' ego lol. Parsons wanted more than Chris Jones and everyone else. He got it and he's overpaid. He's top 10 good but he's not the leagues best. His agent had the ego here
