Pat White was arguably the best QB we've ever had, but apparently, not an NFL QB.

[QUOTE="xWVU2010x, post: 129467254, member: 1467482"] You act like Im here asking for Peyton Manning. We need an NFL level QB, that does not mean that guy needs to one day lead a team to the Superbowl, Brandon Weeden, Geno Smith, or Case Keenum would work just fine for us at the college level. We need a defense that is simply average paired with a high level offense for a program like ours to be successful, that is the blueprint for our success as well as most other schools that are not "brand names". To get a high level offense we need an NFL QB, we have enough of a sample size from Holgorsen going from his previous days as a coordinator and his time here to conclude that. If you want to romanticize QBs like Trickett and Howard, fine knock yourself out but their records and stats speak for themselves. We will never achieve anything of significance under Holgorsen unless he upgrades that position AND has a defense that doesnt suck, I also think its not likely for him to stumble onto a QB of that caliber. Its time to cut bait, and go back to our old blueprint of getting an athlete at QB. That blueprint that seems to work well for TCU and Oregon right now, instead of trying to catch lightning in a bottle of picking up a high level QB during a timeframe where our defense is solid.
