By the way, Germany and Japan had to apologize less for WW II than the people who may not have even been involved in the Sandusky scandal have had to apologize for that. It’s been total overkill, mainly because the cowards who ran PSU at the time contributed to the overkill unlike administrators at the many other schools that have had similar scandals. In the latter cases, those scandals largely have been forgotten.

Congratulations boys and girls, it only took us four pages to prove Godwin’s Law.

“As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.” — Godwin’s Law.

That’s why you just can’t give a . . . about what other people think and be brave and courageous. Eventually, probably in the same day, these blowhards will move on to another scandal, and the next day they’ll move on to another scandal.

The problem was it involved Joe Paterno who was one of the most famous coaches of all time. People who knew next to nothing about football had heard of Joe. It was a huge story. Paterno was Penn State. Add to that he was revered for his upstanding ethical character and then boom he is involved in the middle of a child molestation scandal.

I am not condoning the weasel, cowardly moves by the PSU administration. I am pointing out that these other scandals involved no names. The gymnastics coach at OSU or the doctor, whomever, nobody cared about the guy or knew of the guy. Easy to forget and move on.

Once a moron forms an opinion, only death will alter it.

So, like, when certain people obsess over the notion that non-coaches aren't allowed to criticize coaches ... no one will ever alter that opinion, and it'll be repeated ad nauseum until death.

I’ll say this for you, @Moogy, you’re an equal-opportunity $h!tposter.

Except my posts are not at all $h!tposting ... they are high quality and completely valid, and I don't post them to get a reaction, but to highlight bad behavior/poor takes and to interject a bit of reasonableness and logical thinking into the festivities. Other than that, you nailed it.

Fair enough. I used “$h!tposting” because I didn’t have a thesaurus handy. I thought you might object to my using the term, to be honest.

Nailed it. The priests diddling kids was an ok story, but none of them were winning national titles in their prime so we all kind of just ignore the lack of coverage there. Hell about 10 days ago 163 kids were recovered from a human trafficking ring.....not ever sure it really made a blip on the radar. Maybe if the kidnappers were trans or illegals from a different state it would be interesting to some. Culture war media is about $$$$ and clicks....news is an afterthought no matter which way they lean.

A record number of Lettermen will be at the game tomorrow. This is just further proof that Campbell has done extremely well reuniting the PSU family.

They should not stand on the sidelines, though. Get up in the stands and fill the empty seats.

Do we have 110,000 lettermen available?

With the letter men present, Campbell revels. In the meantime, BGJ in a scene reminiscent of Col. Saito, Bridge on the River Kwai, pounds his head in the dark and weeps.
