Congrats on the pick up. Looks like you guys may win the bidding war. Obviously we need to get another envelope to the guy pronto.
And yes, it'll be fun to watch the Spirit meltdown if it happens. Conversely, it'll be just as much fun watching some of the people on here back track with their opinions on the guy.

I still personally don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell that MSU gets PP. If we do, that's great, but I've been convinced for quite some time that it ain't happening. Fortunately for me(in case he shocks us), I've never really espoused an opinion on PP except to say he's a great player. I've just been disgusted at the constant worship of the guy. He won't make or break us, but there's no question we want him. He'll still have to prove he's not another Bob Hargro.

I agree with you there, and I've thought this guy was for sale for a long time, much like I thought Alonzo Lawrence was for sale last year. If we land Patterson, it'll be because we upped the ante, not because he loves Oxford or Ole Miss or any of that BS.
And still, I've said he's down on my wish list, because like you I like to wait to see a guy contribute before getting too excited, and also he's at a position that isn't a need for us right now. To be honest with you, I wish we'd route any contributions to the Patterson fund away from him and to Bobby Massie. An OL with that size and athletic ability definitely is going to cost us, and I'd much rather us spend our resources there.

Fletcher Cox, Josh Boyd, Tyler Russel, Chad Bumphis, Dennis Thames are all going to be there too?? That's like the state's top 6 prospects. We evidently think we have a shot cuz I would call that truly pulling all the stops.
maybe he's planning on going to Ole Miss and just wants to jaunt down to see their basketball team play. Who really knows what the heck this guy is truly thinking.
