Bought 5 lbs to give them a try this weekend and had to throw them away. I wanted to drive back over there and tell them they have no clue how to boil...
Absolutely no spice whatsoever, none. I could not believe they were actually selling them like that. Now I know how they are cheaper than anyone else in town, they save money on the spices..

Now their Live ones are okay, my neighbor bought a sack and they were a nice size and not many straight tails...

IMO Crawdad Hole has the best Boiled Bugs in town, with the Crawfish Hut a close second. 3 Words...Chinese Red Pepper... I went to the Crawdad Hole Fest yesterday and had my fill, great music too by Jimbo, George Mac, & L C Ulmer...

I have bought fish there multiple times and it been so rank when I have taken out of the bag at home. And of course, they have a big *** sign behind the fishmonger saying they arent responsible for fish after it leaves the store.

Crawdad Hole is the only way to go.

Had some on Saturday. They know what they're doing. I've only bought live ones from Paul Anthony's and, like you said, they had some pretty good size and very few died before hitting the boil.

I'd put Crawdad Hole and Mudbugs boiledat pretty much neck and neck. The Mudbugs owner uses the same recipe as T'Beaux's, who has easily the best around the metro Jxn area IMO.

I humbly defer to you on this topic as I don't know them personally. But isn't Coulon's wife a "T'Beaux" herself? Every time I boil a sack I run out to Clinton and buy a bag of their seasoning and have them make it extra spicy. Does the trick every time.

Next time I am out that way I will be sure to drop in... Isn't the owner from the Burg?

As far as seasoning I like to use Swamp Fire Seafood Boil, liquid crab boil, Zatarian's X-Spicy Crab Boil, Crystal Hot sauce, cayanne pepper, Old Bay, and Chineese Red Pepper.. That along with your lemons, oranges, garlic, onions, bay leaves & salt.

there that they gave me my money back. Took home some "fresh" fish, told my wife, I will handle dinner tonight. Bought her some wine, poured her a glass, pulled out the fish and damn near vomited right then. She left the room asking where in the world I had bought that fish from.
I put it back in the bag and took it back up there, with the receipt from the day before. They tried pulling that crap that they were not responsible for fish once it leaves. I said, no problem. I preceded to stand there and warn the next 3 customers that came in about the rotten fish, even allowed one lady to smell the fish I had bought the day before.
Paul Anthony's then decided that it would be in their best interest to give me back my money so I would go away.

Some pricey stuff in there. When you can get better quality seafood at Kroger, you know you have a problem.

I miss McTaggert's.
