I cant stand the f*cker, he is a total alabama/saban homer and has never passed up an opportunity to crap on either of the two Mississippi schools. Will be interesting to see how he changes up his stances, this is his first time going into another SEC market, he's on in Ga but I think its around Auburn. Get ready for jerry springer meets college football.

One thing I would disagree with is the dislike of both Miss schools. He actually has some fondness for UM (maybe since he grew up in Memphis during the 60's/70's). He never fails to take a dig at us when possible. Also, on the Alabama homerism, he just kicks whichever team is down. If the roles were reversed, he'd be praising Auburn & dogging Alabama. Finebaum's all about ratings.</p>

but it is 99.9% Bama and Auburn the rest of the time. I wonder how that will play to a Mississippi audience? I would think he would have to open things up to other schools more now if he plans to become a little more regional with his audience.

He knows that Bama fans outnumber Auburn fans 2 to 1 in that state. I can't imagine him changing his tune about State just to please a new, small faction of his listener base. BTW, he calls State a garbage school, while being relatively tame to Ole Miss. That's funny considering we've had just as much or more success on the athletic field in the past 20 years and we're exactly the same from an academic standpoint.

I can't imagine it doing that well in Jackson considering 99% of the show will deal with Auburn and Alabama.

Besides Ben's show (which is only on occasionally), there is no really good sports talk in the afternoon. Though he is a 90% Bama/Auburn show, Mississippi has probably the most SEC fan bases (whether it's bandwagon or not) out of the SEC states. And despite the fact he bashes State, some people are still going to listen cause it makes them mad and riles them up. It's kinda like Howard Stern-I listen cause I think he's entertaining but the group that hates him will listen to hear what he says next.

And of course they do this after I'm not there...

Bama callers will continue to dominate and drive the show and eventually other fans will grow bored. And frankly there's only so much of the Auburn-Bama slap fights normal people can take.

Maybe he will do well because it doesn't take much to do well in Jackson (see Fat and Fatter in the morning), but I don't see it "thriving" the way the show is constituted now.

he interviewed Howell on the radio this afternoon and closed with a statement about him being high on the hiring of Mullen and the work that Nutt did this year. I hate him, but yet I listen. When JWS was here, he referred to MSU as the K-Mart of college football.

His show used to be on XM Radio a couple of years ago. I never did understand why XM would air his show nationwide. I would listen ever now and then.

I feel dumber very time I listen to even 5 minutes of his show. Between the mentally challenged callers and the non stop jerking off of the Bama nation it's just unbearable.

It's a shame someone in MS couldn't get a 3 hour statewide show concerning USM MSU and UM. I have to think it would do well.

broadcast on XM or in Mississippi. The format of the show is basically a forum for all things Bama with a little Auburn thrown in. And along the way, Finebaum routinely puts down the SEC programs in Mississippi (especially MSU) and refers to them as "garbage" programs. About the only positive is that it is pretty much all SEC all the time, so if there is something of any significance going on in the conference you will likely hear about it. Maybe if he is being broadcast in MS, he will tone down his demeaning comments toward the state and the 2 SEC schools, but knowing Finebaum, I sort of doubt it. He seems to try and garner an audience by irritating as many people as possible and loves to egg on a bad situation. He worked to get Shula fired, was on the bandwagon to oust Tuberville, and is now starting to fan the flames to get Gottfried fired.
