Chris told Paul he hasn't been in Oxford since last weekend.

Said it's crazy all over twitter that he was there. Paul quotes Jones "Yes I am still committed to Mississippi State and that's how it is baby." I think it's time to take Yancy and Talty down. This misinformation has gone too far.

Said he's in his house in Houston and expects to see Mullen soon and Freeze around 3.

This shows two things:

1. Om is desperate to get us to bad mouth our best recruit.
2. We are idiots and bad mouth our best recruit.

What irritates me is a prick like Yancy can throw out totally false info...

Like clockwork. We'll never learn.

and then have it retweeted by an ally in the newspaper business (Talty) and there is absolutely no consequences for it. In fact he will probably get a hundred new subscribers today just for muddying the waters.

I've sait it before... but until people quit giving Yancy the airtime, this **** isn't going to stop. All you have to do is ignore him.

I haven't seen any bad mouthing, not here anyway. Haven't looked at the Lake or other MSU sites. There have been a few reactionary "He's gone" type posts, but I wouldn't call that bad mouthing.

It really is amazing that Yancy gets away with this, and it's absolutely outrageous that CL passes it along like it's gospel.

Ill agree. Nothing was said negative about CJ but I posted in two threads about two hours ago for people to watch their mouths about CJ. That this was typical operating procedure for Yancy especially on the last weekend of the crootin' season. I am impressed no one went full retard. Maybe we have learned lessons from previous years.

I agree. Yancey will prove to be an even bigger douche than usual, Talty will be proven to be an OM homer with an agenda, and Tony C will be a bulldog.

It also helps that no one can say with a straight face that the kid is overrated or we don't need him. He's not overrated and is the best de in the country by my eyes and we desperately need a legitimate pass rusher; more than any other position on the field

Nobody is bad mouthing our recruits. And if it is that easy, why dont we just

log in as rebels and bad mouth them making it look like they are bad mouthing their recruits. I'm gonna do that next year i think in my spare time.

Like clockwork. We'll never learn.

Who is Paul Jones? Google didn't help ... too many of that name associated with football (e.g., Penn State, LSU).

So yancy says he saw chris jones pull into a chevron at 2am. Said chris was just getting into town and was with a friend and yp just so happens to be at a gas station at 2am when chris arrived. He also states that chris left around 10am (he would have to bc his 11am in home with mullen).

so, cj either drove to oxford to go sleep (bars are closed) or he drove to go to a late night party, after which for going to sleep for a few hours, he gets up to drive home, only to turn around and come straight back....

that all makes sense

either way, everyone will know today

Clearly a no-brainer

The first stop upon arriving in Oxford is always at the Chevron for a chicken-on-a-stick and some potato logs. That's Oxford Etiquette for you.

So far it seems the only two people that are saying Jones was definitely in Oxford are Yancy and this GooberSmoohcerFromMars schmuck.

Correct?

And Talty, who couldn't "confirm" Conner is in Starkville but apparently could "confirm" Jones in Oxford

Well, apparently Talty can't even brush his own damn teeth. So his credibility is significantly lower that YP's.

It's kind of ironic that I'm typing this as History Channel is showing the Jim Jones documentary.

They just showed Jones son and he said "a guy like my dad, he found out what you wanted to hear and see, and he showed it to you."

That seems to apply to some here. I guess you could say it applies to Yancy, Paul, Steve, and Gene also.

Jones did go to Oxford last night. This comes from the person that checked he and his mom into their room. The rumor that he would be back last night was floating around on the DL amongst some rebel fans close to the situation before it was ever reported by anyone last night. If you again choose to tell yourself he wasn't there, fine.

Jones left Oxford for home to meet with Mullen this morning.

The drama for today isn't over yet though. Those who say Jones hasn't visited Oxford this weekend will have egg on their face. Remember, this isn't the first time Jones has given recruiting reporters info that contradicted his actual actions. And I don't blame him.

So jones and his mom went to oxford last night at 2am (even though yp said jones was with a friend and his parents werent there), checked into a room, got up and drove home so his mom could cook mullen lunch at 11am?

why would they do this since yp said jones and his parents would be back in oxford all weekend anyway. What is the point of the trip last night?

and why was jones wearing all msu gear at his game last night?

and why was jones in starkville all wednesday night?

Will you at least promise to admit it if it turns out you're wrong (which all evidence points to)?

I promise, but the person who checked them in to the hotel believes she got this right.

Like I said, we should have all learned. It was only a week ago that Jones said one thing, which several MSU outlets ran with, but he did another.

If it can be proven that he wasn't in Oxford, I will say I was wrong. It's not national security.

Are libel laws thrown out the window during recruiting season?

I'm not up on Libel Law. I suppose you have to prove falsehood, and harm/malice?

It seems like reporters should be keen about Libel.
