Payne is a real go getter. I bet it takes him a week to wipe his own butt. His nickname should be “the slug”.

I have no hatred for Walter McCarty. I mean Kenny wanted to be the UofL coach and made it very well known that is his dream. (Rightfully so you didn't hire him)
Did Rick ever make an attempt to hire him? It's not like he's a US soldier who is now doing work for the KGB...it's a job that pays him a lot of money.

Walter McCarty was at Louisville for 2 years if Payne had stayed at sUcK for 2 years and then left it might be different. He's been there to long for my interest he's part of your program now not ours. If Cow leaves you can hire him as a Head coach since you think he is so qualified.

Pitino offered Traitor Payne a job when he left Oregon, but he chose the dark side. That choice cost him a chance of ever coaching here. That and the fact that he is to lazy to be a Head Coach.
And he also discouraged Rex from signing with UofL. Telling him he wouldn't get any playing time his Freshman year.

Anyway, I love Kenny. He was part of a championship for us and someone I would have openly endorsed as HC here. It sounds a lot like UK did when Pitino had success here. Why are we even talking about an assistant coach at another team at this time?

Yep a I assumed he was a good person...but coaching at Kentucky I just found out is a morally reprehensible crime.
Signed a $2.7 Million contract to coach recently and would be hard for anyone to turn down...but ya know coaching at a school you don't like makes him a bad person because it's a rival

Personally, I have no ill will towards Kenny Payne whatsoever and think he is a good person to the best of my knowledge. I just have no interest in him ever being a coach OR assistant at Louisville because I just don't think he is that sharp. I had the opportunity to speak to him a couple of times when he came back to UofL to finish his degree (good for him). I was a corporate recruiter at the time and it was my responsibility to appear at Job Fairs held at UofL. He just didn't strike me as having a particularly sharp mind. I don't really know what his role at UK is in terms of recruiting, but if he IS a great recruiter, I possibly wouldn't mind having him on staff as primarily a recruiter. I certainly wouldn't hold his time at UK against him; it was a business decision, and a smart one at that, that has worked out well for him.
When you talk to a sUcK fan their program is a gift from God to the rest of the world ha ha ha!!! Because of that why would Payne or anybody ever leave there so why all the talk?
Like it or not Payne is one hell of a recruiter and he does good work with our bigs. I’m happy we have him. You guys laugh it up. Louisville would be lucky to have him on your staff, but You’ll have to settle for trying to beat him every December.
Payne's best attribute as a recruiter is that he is buddies with World Wide Wes.

Oh, so you go to practice? You’ve seen him work out the bigs? That tub of goo couldn’t workout a big if his next pizza depended on it. Hell, he waddles to his seat on the bench and never gets up. I seen a decent amount of kitty games since he got there and I’ve seen him with a dry erase board in his hand ONE TIME. Coach? I think not.

Yeah he really coached up SKJ who just quit NC State. There’s another. And, as stated the majority of bigs would never step foot on Rupp U’s campus if not for the NBA rule. Lard *** is not developing jack ****.
