LOL. UCLA is cheap! They tried to steal Cal with a pay cut. Then they wouldn't pay Dixon's buyout and he was said to be the guy they really wanted. Their #1 LOL. Not sure you are going to see much of a huge *** offer as it seems like they are shopping at Costco as far as hiring a coach.

Still paying for most of that talent Sam Gilbert bought them back in the 60's and 70's..

Life is so strange.

Two weeks before the season (due to FBI probe) there was a question if Pearl would even survive to start the season.

Now he ends up in FF.

Wow.

Not really, seems like the way to go anymore. Cam Newton winning his title in 2011, the NCAA pretty much hand gifted North Carolina a championship in 2017, let Zion Williamson play at Duke, when it is clear as day their was cheating involved, just keep going with it. Meanwhile you have some schools that try and do it the clean way, they are the ones that is continually getting the shaft by the NCAA..

He is a lying cheating scumbag. Practiced deception to entrap other coaches. Auburn staff has been corrupt to the point of prosecution.

I just hope he keeps his sweating filth away from a Kentucky bench forever.
Anybody else ever get the feeling that if ol' bassfan had been in the crowd the day Jesus said "let he among you without sin cast the first stone" that the fornicator would've taken a brick upside her head?

Bruce is all class when the microphone is on but is as dirty and foul mouthed as K or any of the rest of them when not being interviewed. Pearl even looks like a snake oil salesman, the reason Barkley likes him is because he is the only coach to ever get Auburn that far, liar, cheater and all.

I grew to dislike Pearl when he was at UT. I seem to recall him holding a special senior day for Chris Lofton when we were in town - not even his last home game. Had graphics that said "thanks for believing in me" or something similar as if he were trying to rub our noses in Lofton going to UT. Never mind the fact that we took Delk and Mercer out of Tennessee and won 2 ships.

Was he the coach there when we recruted those two.

...after the game.

He handled it perfectly. Not a huge Bruce fan, but have to give him props.
If he sticks with Auburn, I'll agree.
But if he jumps to UCLA soon, I'll say it was all part of plan (including the newly died hair to look younger).:)

I also noticed he had dyed his hair since the Kentucky game.

I like the exciting style Pearl coaches. He does well with lesser rated but experienced players. I know Barnry would never hire him, so its moot. That said, as he gets older he may be mellowing. I recall hi. Being pretty salty when he was coaching up north. Especially about UK. The EwwTee fansoved that part of it. Since the Uncheat walk away, I can forgive a coach a lot that has been crossed by them.

UCLA should throw the bank at Pearl. He would dominate the west in 2 years. Mark Few would actually have to face some one. All kinds of good with Pearl at UCLA.

I don't teeter. He is a good coach and cares...class act IMO. If he was at UK, people would love him.

BTW, I don't want him here....just saying...

Yea no. He doesn’t. He cares about himself and is able to con a lot of people including you apparently into thinking he’s admirable.

what is a ship? If you meant championship, say that...unless you are in 7th grade then I will over look it...otherwise it sounds idiotic

I like pearl but wouldn't want him here.

He might end up thanking UL and UNC (and others) for creating a climate that has the NCAA clinging to their very existence. Hell, the NCAA probably wanted to find a way to let UL skate but couldn't.

If the NCAA starts really enforcing the rules across the board they are done so it will never happen. All they can do is cling to an impression of relevance and selectively enforce their 'student' athlete rules.

For this reason, and because of his previous transgressions, Pearl will likely skate and continue coaching for a long time.

I was at USI when Pearl coached there. Just a great dude. Very approachable. Would come down to the PAC, and watch pick up games. Talking trash. I took his officials class, for my PE credit. He helped me get involved with officiating, and introduce to some college officials, leading to my start as an official. Just a cool dude.

He made a mistake at UT. Paid for it. He's genuine. Respects everyone, and trats everyone the same.

Also----If and when Cal leaves----If I am UK, I throw the check book at him. Dude would win BIG at Kentucky.
Pearl is a POS and left Evansville owing many people money. He'll never coach at UK and I'm glad.

Why should he be thanking those schools? Is Pearl accused of something that is going to get him into significant trouble with the NCAA?

Class or not he might want to teach his players to not foul three point shooters at the end of games.

Got away with it against NMSU but not against UVA.

But go back to SEC tourney game against Florida. They did it there too but in that case the refs did swallow the whistle on a very obvious foul.

Pearls interview was classy.
Just pointing out he was hired as show cause and has a recruiter on his payroll facing legit prison time.

Some time you have to be smart enough to play nice.

Most folks that have Class do not say to the press that we are handling this with class. Just do it, but he doesn’t have any class so he has to try and tell everyone basically- even saying it screams we should be attacking people right now.

He seems like a fun guy to hang with

That being said, don’t trust him as far as I could throw him and would never want him here

My advice to you never hang with this guy, the ropes he uses to hang is old and rotten.
It will snap and you will fall with him[roll]

LOL.

I also noticed he had dyed his hair since the Kentucky game.

Did you notice it did not help him dying his hair?
I was told by a source that he also took a shower prior to the game, and changed his sweaty shirt, which did not help him either.

I'm so mean, I hate myself:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I did find Bruce Pearl's behavior and words in the press conference very classy. I know that must have been incredibly difficult to lose in that fashion.

In the same vein, I also found Tony Bennett's post-game behavior classy. I am not sure I've ever heard another coach express such kind concern for a non-protege colleague. He was genuinely concerned about Bruce Pearl, and even openly said, "I hope that was the right call." Wow! Who does that after a victory that sends them to the Championship Game? I thought that was very respectable.

I like Pearl. He's a great coach and I'd love to down a few beers with him sometime. No, don't want to see him at UK, and Yes he made a mistake just like everyone that post on this board. Some mistakes are bigger some are smaller, but they are all mistakes in the end. I think he represented the SEC well. Can't we just all get along and forgive and forget?

Last summer, during the father-daughter dance at his daughter’s wedding, Bruce Pearl told the crowd, “Next year when we are in the Final Four kicking Kentucky’s ***, we’re going to dance to this song.”

Agreed, I never want the man near a UK bench! When Cal decides it's time to retire, UK can, and WILL do much better than BP, you can bet on that.

Like Billy Clyde? :sunglasses: Just admit it, we got lucky with Cal. He wanted this job. Alot of people don't want this job because of us fans.

I do wonder how he would do with big time recruits like he would get at a big school.
