All the Penn State guys have the same parallel ride. They have had this mastered for years. Go back and watch a match from 10 years ago, whole team same ride. It's obviously very effective. Yes, they have unbelievable talent, but they are teaching this.

Cali got to the leg/foot twice but looked to counter the rest of the time. MM was relentless, taking at least a dozen shots. I hate MM's personality but respect his hustle
Mikey needs some kind of offense from contact, MM operates best in space. Great defense, but never even close to a takedown.
At least the brands bros are consistent. You know their lineup will peter out and is worthless in scramble situations.
How can Brands big money guy continue to give the money he does knowing Iowa is this far away.
Honestly, we are lucky Caliendo didn’t get teched. Was never close to anything offensively. Gap still just as wide between the two.
Caliendo is fantastic but that's the difference between very good and a world class wrestler. Hawk fans will get to be a fan of Mitch when he's winning world and Olympic gold.

Agreed! That used to be called stalling on top if you stayed parallel and just covered the hips. Iowa gets away with it alot as well so it’s not a PSU thing but it makes for boring wrestling.
I still haven't figured out the stalling thing beyond backing out on the edge and doing nothing from the bottom. Both wrestlers hand fighting on the logo, that one perplexes me.
This is a way better effort than I expected. Seriously we’ve been in every match and I thought we had almost no shot at any of them.
arguably, yes. Caliendo wasn't evading. He was trying his best to stay in the fight but it's kinda hard to argue against those calls when MM took, like, 7 unanswered shots in the first period alone
We'll cheer for him, but that doesn't mean we'll be fans because most people outside of PSU think he's a stuck up prick.
At this point, fire the entire staff and bring in the ISU staff.

You guys want Brands gone so bad that you cant give athletes credit. For the most part, guys have competed well tonight against a team that is simply too good.
I get that Brands are responsible for the talent gap but as Iowa fans it sucks not to support the guys taking the mat.

It's honestly wider than the last couple times they wrestled last year imo. And people came in thinking Mikey had a chance to upset him.
