Cael's objection is to those who are pushing this as an alternative to the NCAA tournament or as part of the calculation to determine the national champion. I also don't think he is keen on training to peak twice in a season.
I agree.

Atthis point he should give in and take the 'B-team'. If they don't finish first just say, "they don't finish 1st in our room either." 😉

You are right about peaking twice. Cael's 100% focus is on individual achievements. Focus on that and everything else will take care of itself.

I never heard a single wrestler talk about dreaming to get the win (or not getting beat too bad) so the team could win.

It would make me smile to see our B team beat everyone else’s A team!

I know in the past Cael was not a fan of having wrestlers have to match up with the same Big Ten opponents 3 and 4 times in a year. Let's face it, except for Ok. State and maybe one of or two others, the top eight teams are all from the Big Ten. You already have 2 to 3 matchups a year with a common opponent (dual, Big Tens, NCAA), you don't need a pre-season tourney to make it 3 or 4x. It would be interesting to see have PSU's second team would do in a dual meet tournament. My guess is top 8.
