I actually thought he should have given backs there, was surprised not to see a brick. I haven't watched the replay yet.Van Ness was a little sloppy. Reinsel almost had some near fall.
Do we know for sure that Cassar was much stronger???He needs to get significantly stronger, Cassar was basically the same weight. Cassar was much stronger. Cole then needs to be strategic in his attacks against the BIG guys, he cannot get underneath. He had a nice double, wasn't quite deep enough and Taylor sprawled smashing Cole into the mat for the easy 2.
Neither is close to Ironhead; but I thought the same thing. They did pretty well, I thought.Still not remotely close to the Drexel announcers.
Yes, I can't beat Cassar in an arm wrestling match.Do we know for sure that Cassar was much stronger???
Mine is not a blue shepherd, but when she was 4 months old she went flying out the door with the 3 grandkids and got to the steps down off the deck and stopped dead. She looked back at me to see if she was allowed to follow the kids and I simply told her, no you have to stay. She sulked but went right back into the house.Yep i think this puppy is going to be bigger than normal shes only 7 months but almost as big as the adults. They are a little too smart in my opinion like the malinois i had that died this year. She figures **** out like fences and kennels and door knobs shes a demon just looks like a shepherd lol
Nailed this one though. To be honest, I thought he was meaning that he's worried Rocco will marry a girl that likes to talk about the size of her cooch on social media...
I'm not always the best at reading people tho.
Well, Rodgers did successfully slap his thigh once.He did win easily. He was never in danger of getting taken down.
The Lehigh wrestling website roster shows him as a Senior with Sophomore Eligibility.3 years left? I know this isn't the time to argue this, but he is in year 4 at Lehigh. He would be a 7-yr student athlete if he had 3 to go. That does not include a covid year (he enrolled after covid). Surely you jest.
First 2 years State Champ for Notre Dame GreenpondThe father has a reputation. I know a friend of his who admits he is a lot to handle. He’s another kid who went to multiple high schools, right?
Yea Rodgers took one shot in 7 minutes and Rocco had some nice shots but few in number.Agree. There was a lot of defense first based wrestling by Lehigh. Rocco’s opponent had a strategy from the start to make it a one take down match (and succeeded). Many D1 wrestlers can keep a match close if that is their entire focus. Rocco has been more aggressive since joining the team. I think today’s match was more about his opponent strategy than Rocco reverting to his tOSU ways.
Cole gets counters on him a lot and they end up being take downs, he will have trouble with big guys who can move a little. But he's young and will get better.Think we’re talking about an entirely different wrestler if Cole is 235 while maintaining speed
There's zero doubt he will get better, I just feel like he simply isn't big enough yet...I wonder if you get Lucas some matches in just in case? I don't think Lucas is much bigger thoughCole gets counters on him a lot and they end up being take downs, he will have trouble with big guys who can move a little. But he's young and will get better.
Crookham suffered a concussion at WNO before his JR year, and in his SR year injured his knee at the Clarion Open and did not return until Feb.The Lehigh wrestling website roster shows him as a Senior with Sophomore Eligibility.
First 2 years State Champ for Notre Dame Greenpond
Father and coach had disagreement , transferred to Saucon Valley but the PIAA wasn't going to allow transfer for year end tournament. Supposedly he got hurt also, but could of been just a reaction to PIAA decision. He won his third State Gold his Senior year for Saucon Valley.
Should have been a 4 timer.
Same with Nate Desmond first 2 years State Champ for BECA then transferred to Wyoming Cemetery.
A little trivia. I believe District 11 has had only one 4 time State champ. Who would that be??
5 lb and loses to Cole consistently. There's zero doubt he will get better, I just feel like he simply isn't big enough yet...I wonder if you get Lucas some matches in just in case? I don't think Lucas is much bigger though
True, but that guy knows wrestling. You could tell the two from today have never stepped on a mat, but they atleast did their research and were prepared. BIG + is a wild ride, you never know when you will get an "illegal fist to the back".Still not remotely close to the Drexel announcers.
Its that long bus ride.I thought Mitch looked “tired” at the end. Never seen that before with Mitch. Sick???
Bus lagIts that long bus ride.
Ok, well let’s just agree then that they read this board and did not capture the irony of posts mocking hawks fans for wailing “he’s staaaaaling. “True, but that guy knows wrestling. You could tell the two from today have never stepped on a mat, but they atleast did their research and were prepared. BIG + is a wild ride, you never know when you will get an "illegal fist to the back".
Plus an average ref and a touch of the flu?Its that long bus ride.
All kidding aside, that's a perfect match. Iowa does not have a 133 next year with Ayala gone. At all. [ Maybe Iowa could bump up that little ,annoying guy that hogs up the TV screen doing Iowa dual meets ?] Even more than Moriah Marinelli.
Well, they could bump up Cruz or DeLuca, but they want to keep DeLuca at 125, and they like Cruz so much that they imported Peterson.
Matt Gerhard, Catasuqua is correct.Crookham suffered a concussion at WNO before his JR year, and in his SR year injured his knee at the Clarion Open and did not return until Feb.
Gerhard.
Needs a lot of work on legs defense from bottom. Not good to see that today. All of a sudden I'm worried about SVN. I thought it was just Lovett who he didn't want to go under but after today I'm concerned about any tough rider. He needs to not allow himself to get rolled like that and be more methodical about getting out.
He also just looks sloppy. He’s good enough to score his way out of any issues but against the top guys he needs to clean things up. 149 sucks this year though. He will continue to get sharper and should cruise to a title I thinkNeeds a lot of work on legs defense from bottom. Not good to see that today.
Just back from the match. I thought the team overall looked a little sluggish out there. Mini "training through" event from the staff?I thought Mitch looked “tired” at the end. Never seen that before with Mitch. Sick???
He definitely seemed to be trying the same finish but I wasn't really happy with it. Maybe more practice before taking it out for a spin.He also just looks sloppy. He’s good enough to score his way out of any issues but against the top guys he needs to clean things up. 149 sucks this year though. He will continue to get sharper and should cruise to a title I think
Matt Gerhard. I wrestled him my junior year. The Lehigh wrestling website roster shows him as a Senior with Sophomore Eligibility.

Absolutely did their researchTrue, but that guy knows wrestling. You could tell the two from today have never stepped on a mat, but they atleast did their research and were prepared. BIG + is a wild ride, you never know when you will get an "illegal fist to the back".
they also referred to the mat as the ground, but they are students so giving them a passDid anybody else catch the announcer saying about how penn state fans call stalling at just about anything and immediately after he said that the ref called stalling and I didn't hear anything from the fans, lol. Who were the announcers?
No reason not to train through Lehigh this yearJust back from the match. I thought the team overall looked a little sluggish out there. Mini "training through" event from the staff?
Im watching the video now. Taylor is an absolute monster of a man.
Not how we would have handled itBus lag![]()
Lehigh coaches were all upset about it. Why not toss the brick? You aren't winning the dual.I actually thought he should have given backs there, was surprised not to see a brick. I haven't watched the replay yet.
Cole is starting his 2nd year here, he’s 20 years old. Anthony was in his 4th year here I think when he was out heavy. This may take another year or two.He needs to get significantly stronger, Cassar was basically the same weight. Cassar was much stronger. Cole then needs to be strategic in his attacks against the BIG guys, he cannot get underneath. He had a nice double, wasn't quite deep enough and Taylor sprawled smashing Cole into the mat for the easy 2.
Actually, the correct answer is Matty from Catty. Many in the valley would not know what to make of “Gerhard. “Matt Gerhard, Catasuqua is correct.
I compared Cole to Cassar. One big difference is age. Cole is currently 2 years out of HS. When Cassar won his title he was 4 to 5 years out of HS. Cassar, even though basically the same weight as Cole, was much more physically mature as he should have been since he was 2 to 3 years older.5 lb and loses to Cole consistently.
Cole just needs to commit to his shots. He left points behind because he didn't pull the trigger, and others because he didn't finish.
Also we need to remember that Taylor is probably by 20 lb the biggest guy he'll face all year. Or at least Taylor is by far the best HWT over 255 lb in the country.
Cole needs to improve, but let's not overreact to something he might not have to deal with the rest of the year, and that Cochran is no better suited to.
