There is a 2-3 yr difference in both physical and technique maturity.I compared Cole to Cassar. One big difference is age. Cole is currently 2 years out of HS. When Cassar won his title he was 4 to 5 years out of HS. Cassar, even though basically the same weight as Cole, was much more physically mature as he should have been since he was 2 to 3 years older.
Cole needed to get off his knee and pick leg up when he was in on Taylor's leg. Big trees do fall when you take away half of the trunk.5 lb and loses to Cole consistently.
Cole just needs to commit to his shots. He left points behind because he didn't pull the trigger, and others because he didn't finish.
Also we need to remember that Taylor is probably by 20 lb the biggest guy he'll face all year. Or at least Taylor is by far the best HWT over 255 lb in the country.
Cole needs to improve, but let's not overreact to something he might not have to deal with the rest of the year, and that Cochran is no better suited to.
Even the student broadcasters commented on how he wasn't changing levels.Cole needed to get off his knee and pick leg up when he was in on Taylor's leg. Big trees do fall when you take away half of the trunk.
If not able, he might consider to call Cassar and learn the blast double .
Agree. There was a lot of defense first based wrestling by Lehigh. Rocco’s opponent had a strategy from the start to make it a one take down match (and succeeded). Many D1 wrestlers can keep a match close if that is their entire focus. Rocco has been more aggressive since joining the team. I think today’s match was more about his opponent strategy than Rocco reverting to his tOSU ways.
i was surprised how non-agressive the entire lehigh team was. very little offense all day. taylor made no real attempts all match. waited for cole to attempt tds then flopped on him. give cole alot of credit. he was at least trying for tds. not impressd by taylor at all.Agree. Pictures? I grew up with GSDs, never without one. When I got married, my husband’s allergies couldn’t handle the longer hair. We switched to Boxers, and I love them. But I still have the biggest soft spot for German ShepherdsAnd one is a blue german shepherd puppy 7 months. God forbid i take my shoes off that dogs eats everything literally everything
Minor disagreement. Few guys cruise to the hands-down toughest individual national collegiate title. No other sport features regulated fighting against equally sized, equally powerful young men with similar drive and ambitions. If SVN gets his NC in March, I expect it will be hard won with at least one scare (possibly a Jax Joy-ride (ha) and cradle?). But I also expect SVN will get it done.He also just looks sloppy. He’s good enough to score his way out of any issues but against the top guys he needs to clean things up. 149 sucks this year though. He will continue to get sharper and should cruise to a title I think
The objective isn't to peak in Early December. His offense will come.
I’d keep the competition open at heavyweight. I know Cole’s frame isn’t ideal but you’d think knowing you’re going that weight for 2 years would get you to be more maxed out for your frame.

is Cole on the Cassar diet,he doesn't seem to be gaining much weight! There is a 2-3 yr difference in both physical and technique maturity.
A few guys cruise to Rutger, though the names change depending on when you ask Creedo.Minor disagreement. Few guys cruise to the hands-down toughest individual national collegiate title. Well there's the issue, he has to stop throwing it up and he'll get bigger. Duh.Conner said Cole eats so much food he upchucks sometimes. Not everybody can put on weight as easily as others. They have been trying to put on good weight for some time.
As noted, my expectations of both Marisolas has been tempered in the past, but the adjustment seems pretty clear w.r.t Cole vs bigger guys.5 lb and loses to Cole consistently.

Watch Snyder vs Coon in the NCAA finals. Good example of how to deal with a bigger opponent. As noted, my expectations of both Marisolas has been tempered in the past, but the adjustment seems pretty clear w.r.t Cole vs bigger guys.
Anytime he faces a guy 20lbs heavier or more he just needs to focus on his strengths and advantages, while recognizing the obvious pitfalls
Cole should be quicker and more athletic, but clearly not as strong or powerful as those horses. Go behinds, counters and for god's sake head outside singles only. He will lose most encounters when he gets trapped underneath on double legs and head inside singles. Cael always stresses wrestle in the positions we want to be in. Trapped underneath a mountain of flesh ain't it
228 lbs is not all that small on the scale but he sure does look small for 228. I wouldn't mind seeing Cochran take a shot at the next heavy that's 245 or above, just to see him. I think the last time we saw him wrestle and beat heavyweights he was probably no more that 215 lbs.
Just listening to FRL now..Flo's rankers are Jon Kosak and JD. Kosak brought this up and seems he's all in favor of breaking their stupid "rankers oath" in this situation because PJ was winning 14-3 with 1:19 left (common sense). Meanwhile Christian and JD were fighting him saying they shouldn't move him up and it's conceivable Rozynski could have gotten up and turned things around..lol.JD breathing a big sigh of relief now that he doesn’t have to move PJ up in the rankings now because he disregards injury defaults.

Yes and no. Coon panicked and took a bad shot late in the 3rd, that Snyder easily countered for the win.Watch Snyder vs Coon in the NCAA finals. Good example of how to deal with a bigger opponent.
The argument that maybe he gets up and recovers to win despite lossing 14-3 at the time is beyond silly. First, he has to sew his arm back on, then tape his ribs together. Second PJ starts on bottom so his escape makes it 15-3 and then Rozynski (who is a tough kid himself) lays down so as not to get hurt again. The only way Rozynski wins is if PJ trips over him and falls on his back.Just listening to FRL now..Flo's rankers are Jon Kosak and JD. So long story short..we'll see what they do tomorrow. I think Kosak wins out and moves PJ in front of Rozynski. If not then you know JD won out with Christian's influence. Even Spey (who I thought was the worst when he was ranker) sided with Kosak
The ankle pick was good. The finish wasn't -- Cole got out-scrambled by a 275-lber.As noted, my expectations of both Marisolas has been tempered in the past, but the adjustment seems pretty clear w.r.t Cole vs bigger guys.

It's a ridiculous argument..I feel like it's Christian and JD just trolling PSU fans. The reason they put this whole "rankers oath" thing was from when DeSanto couldn't stop crying when RBY was on his leg. At that point they didn't move RBY ahead of DeSanto and put in their "oath."The argument that maybe he gets up and recovers to win despite lossing 14-3 at the time is beyond silly. Same with Nate Desmond first 2 years State Champ for BECA then transferred to Wyoming Cemetery.
Also, keep in mind that Snyder is now readily available to help Cole!Yes and no. Coon panicked and took a bad shot late in the 3rd, that Snyder easily countered for the win.
If Coon just holds position and doesn't take that shot, it's 1-1 going into OT and he would've had an advantage in rideouts.
Snyder to his credit did not allow Coon to force him out of position in the match.

Watch Cassar hit an outside single against White in the NCAA finals. I don't think White had the same size advantage as Taylor has over Cole, but you can see where Cassar does not make the mistake of letting White sprawl or pull him into a scrambling situation.

All ive ever had was shepherd. They are awesome dogsPictures? I grew up with GSDs, never without one. When I got married, my husband’s allergies couldn’t handle the longer hair. We switched to Boxers, and I love them. But I still have the biggest soft spot for German Shepherds
Same here. I have perfected how to be on a diet and still gain weight.follow me around for a month, he'll put on alot of weight.
True enough.
Two things about that match though: (1) Bulk Job weighed 241. (2) Bulk Job's entire MO was hit one throw-by and otherwise milk the clock. He did that to Cassar at the Scuffle. PSU adjusted for the rematch. It meant reducing Cassar's attack arsenal to avoid getting spun by White.
Cassar's B10-winning shot vs Steveson is another good example. Steveson was bigger (IDK his weight at the time, but he had to be 255+ since he was at 265 for the Olympics). Cassar hit a high double and switched to a single, then grabbed the 2nd leg again when they hit the mat. Very clean finish, no room for a scramble. IMO this is applicable for Cole against heavier guys -- whether by double or by single, get lower and attack the hips. If Steveson couldn't stop that, the Nathan Taylors of the world can't either.
You should have her groomed like a Lion! She has the fur for it!Trying to watch today’s meet! Ugh!!! Lola.

Seems well kept.I'm sure he was dying to get in there.
Sorry, couldn't resist, I'll show myself out.
They've really gone downhill after firing Cornell Robinson.Seems well kept.

Far from it. Just interested to see him for the first time closer to the proper weight. Last year wasn't much of a guage. The ankle pick was good. The finish wasn't -- Cole got out-scrambled by a 275-lber.
And "I want to see Cochran vs the next guy 245 or above" is a not even thinly disguised call for Cole to be benched.
