ugh, for KYPSW. I was confident Welsh would win. But I don't think he's pinned an opponent all season, so I wasn't predicting a pin. Oh well. I always seem to have trouble on matches where the outcome is never in doubt -- just what the manner of victory will be for each wrestler.

For me it's Duke. I keep picking him in KYPSW for the FALL and PJ keeps doing me dirty with something less. So I ratcheted my pick all the way down to a TF this time and he breaks out the pin.

What the Fall!

Don't get riding point on a tech fall
From the NCAA Rules Book: If one of the competitors has one minute or more of net riding time advantage, the wrestler is awarded one point. An earned riding time point may be awarded no sooner than at the end of the third period and/or at the end of any sudden victory or any round of tiebreakers The riding time point may be used to win or continue the match The riding time point is earned simultaneously with any other points when determining whether a technical fall occurred (See Rule 2 3 6 )

This always confused me. So, when it talks about the "end of the third" period above it means when time runs out in the third period and doesn't include when the official stops the match when the 15 point advantage is reached?

Edit: I now realize my error in understanding this rule. In my brain I was thinking the end of the match and not the end of the third period, because obviously you can get a tech fall in either the first or second period.

While the announcers on these things are good for a laugh, I look at it from the other side and it makes me realize how much prep and reps a pro like Shane Sparks had to have put in to perform like he does. Young guys on BIG+ finding their way. Maybe in 10 years we will get to hear some of them after they have dialed it in.

Correct

RT can be locked, but if the wrestler who has locked up the RT point gets points in regulation that create a 15-point advantage, then the RT point is not added, as the TF has already been attained. I believe that the only exception is when the ref is holding NF points, as a ref doesn't stop a match due to points held in their hand but not yet awarded, and the offensive wrestler gets the chance to attain the pin. If the buzzer for the end of the match sounds before the pin is attained, then the NF points are awarded at the 7:00 mark, and because the TF had not been accomplished in regulation then the RT point is also awarded.

Teams like Maryland, Indiana, Northwestern, Purdue and Michigan State either need to eliminate their programs, invest more in those programs or face relegation to say the MAC. Doesn't do PSU any good or the other top Big Ten programs any good to wrestle these crap teams.
Yeah, just what we need less wrestling programs. You are witnessing a wrestling dynasty like no other. Just enjoy it and don't berate the have nots of the sport.

Maybe the guys can earn some NIL money holding classes teaching students in the sports broadcasting classes how to call a wrestling match? Just a thought.

Compared to PSU all the other teams are "crap" teams. It's not like the other wrestlers on those teams are terrible. Just PSU's guys are really good. SVN almost got caught tonight. That kid he wrestled is good. PSU starter good, no. But still not some slouch.

Thank you again SlipperyPete. The highest like to post ratio I have ever seen.
Agree! I vote for Pete to have his own heading under his name. For example it says I’m “all conference,” same as Pete

@SlipperyPete needs his own special designation

What do you say @Tom McAndrew @GregPickel ??

“King Pete” “PBP King”. I’m open to suggestions and the mods need to make it happen!

I have no control, or even input, on those.

I think BWI gets input on the designations (if they go with something other than the default), but I don't think they can create custom designations. I'll defer to @GregPickel, as he would know better than me about this.

Davis is looking better and better each match. My prediction.......he finishes between 2nd and 5th in Cleveland. I really appreciate and respect what this kid has done for us!
Thank you. I was wondering what I was missing. It seemed to just be assumed, oh well whatever we get from Davis is a bonus, he's going to be obliterated on the 13th. The kid has won a Big10 title, he has been seeded first for an NCAA tournament and he is an AA. The kid is freaking really good. Thank you for saying that out loud!

Question from a non-wrestler. How do you defend the takedown after PSU lets you out but stays close and knocks your head to the mat. I seriously don’t know how you don’t just get taken down again and again
