To be fair, it's not just the 80's, but you're asking the advocates of this game to let go of 100 years of tradition.Absolutely NO. Pitt is irrelevant and a 2nd tier program. Nobody cares.
Let go of the 1980s nostalgia. The old days are gone forever.
Except when Pitt required all games to be played in Pittsburgh. From 1903 to 1977, we only payed in State College 8 times. It evened out after that. But they owe us a few.Pitt will only schedule if it's home and home series. Penn State uses non conference games for the money and gets as many home games as possible.
Still the only true Rival PSU has, College Football all about tradition and pageantry, no clue why anyone wouldn't want to play them every year. This game use to be as big as any in country. The answer to this poll changes based on our record. I say yes regardless. They need crushed every year.
Never letting go of the greatest time in PSU history!Absolutely NO. Pitt is irrelevant and a 2nd tier program. Nobody cares.

Which is the problem and why some people want to hire Smith.Never letting go of the greatest time in PSU history!
Not about benefitting, I don't watch games worrying about how much $ we are making or publicity a team gets. If you aren't old enough to remember the importance of these games you wouldn't understand, lots of PSU fans don't know any better and think PSU has always been a Big 10 team. I think Smith is a good ast coach, hope they keep him on staff, but don't want him at the helm. I've wanted Campbell from day one, shocked he hasn't gotten more run.Which is the problem and why some people want to hire Smith.
You can have fond memories of the past while embracing change and a different tomorrow
Playing Pitt only benefits Pitt
I'm not talking moneyNot about benefitting, I don't watch games worrying about how much $ we are making or publicity a team gets. Playing and beating Pitt far more enjoyable and beneficial than the garbage they normally play in the OOC, so a guy like you living in the moment must be all about the "Land Grant Trophy" . No reason PSU can't play the Pitt's, WVU's, Syracuse's etc.. on a rotating basis.I'm not talking money
Playing Pitt doesn't benefit us on the field--it doesn't help our resume and dramatically helps their program if they beat us.
I'm 50--I'm plenty old enough--I just don't live in the past
Think Penn State has always been a Big Ten team? lol
Enjoyable is fine but it's not about "is playing Pitt better than Nova"--duh, of course it is. What most of us want real OOC game not PittPlaying and beating Pitt far more enjoyable and beneficial than the garbage they normally play in the OOC, so a guy like you living in the moment must be all about the "Land Grant Trophy" . Just seeing PSU-Pitt Unis on same field gets my juices flowing. Its a no brainer. They think they are hurting Pitt, but they are also hurting themselves. If it benefits Pitt a little more, so be it. When both programs are strong, Penn State is at its best. Really no excuse with the OOC schedule we have been playing, a home and home with a middle of the road ACC team is perfect, and that it has a little juice is great.
At least offer PITT a series of three year deals: two @ PSU & one @ PITT during each series If they say no, then forget about it for good.Pitt will only schedule if it's home and home series. Penn State uses non conference games for the money and gets as many home games as possible.
That's what Penn State tried but Pitt refused. At least offer PITT a series of three year deals: two @ PSU & one @ PITT during each series If they say no, then forget about it for good.
Honestly, it stinks watching all these rivalry games on the last weekend in November and remembering that PSU vs PITT should be in the mix.
Rivalries are good for the sport.

I'd take a 3 to 1 but Pitt won't do anything other than 1 to 1 which means the series is dead.At least offer PITT a series of three year deals: two @ PSU & one @ PITT during each series If they say no, then forget about it for good.

It hasn't been a "tradition" for 20+ years. To be fair, it's not just the 80's, but you're asking the advocates of this game to let go of 100 years of tradition.
Well, we beat them three straight, did that shut them up? Nothing will shut them up, so why bother playing them?As a WPa kid, I want it back just to STFU these annoying yinzer fans that surround me.

Even if we played them it wouldn’t be this weekend. We can forget the traditional Thanksgiving weekend game against Pitt. It’s not gonna happen as long as we’re in the Big.At least offer PITT a series of three year deals: two @ PSU & one @ PITT during each series If they say no, then forget about it for good.

They’re kinda like the gnats that fly around your eyes. I just love beating them. I had a principal who was a huge fan. He’d say HTP to me all the time. Each time we beat them I put the score on a decorated blue and white poster board and placed it in the hallway near my classroom. I changed my email signature to WE ARE for each email I had to send him.Well, we beat them three straight, did that shut them up? Nothing will shut them up, so why bother playing them?

Doesn't playing Rutgers get you excited? At least offer PITT a series of three year deals: two @ PSU & one @ PITT during each series If they say no, then forget about it for good.

They absolutely will notThe garbage doesn't demand a 1-1 home and home. I'm sure we would give Pitt the same deal as a team like Florida International if they would take it.
Oh well. Then too bad. That's what Penn State tried but Pitt refused.
