<font size="2"><font face="Georgia">Musical selections: The 40,000-plus fans at State's home opener against Southeastern Louisiana Saturday heard a little louder and more eclectic musical selection over the speakers. And they heard it more often, too, with portions of songs sometimes played between plays.</font></font>
<font face="Georgia" size="2">Athletic department spokesman Mike Nemeth said there might be some slight changes in store for Saturday's game against Auburn, but nothing significant.</font></p>

"We got e-mails on all sides," he said. "We received complaints about the loudness, we received complaints about the type. We also received compliments about the fact that it was a different atmosphere than what's normal, than what they've come to expect. ... You're never going to make 40,000 people happy with your musical selections."</font></p>

Nemeth said that a new sound system that'll come with the stadium's soon-to-be-completed video board will hopefully help alleviate some of the problems. As part of the installation of the system, crews will take a laptop computer to each section of the stadium and digitally fine-tune the speakers so that the sound is distributed more evenly, Nemeth said.
